Sorry for the dearth of our usual brilliant political analysis this week - we had a family emergency that caught us off-guard. We will be back on our game next week. In the meantime, enjoy this little bit of schadenfreud:

So many sponsors have dropped him, that the Rush Limbaugh show is broadcasting dead air during the commercial breaks

According to Media Matters’ count, at least 48 advertisers had cancelled their ads by Thursday afternoon.

Limbaugh played the controversy down on Wednesday, telling listeners that “everything’s cool.”

“Nobody is losing money here, including us, in all this,” he said. “[The advertisers] are not canceling the business on our stations. They’re just saying they don’t want their spots to appear in my show. We don’t get any revenue from ‘em anyway. The whole effort is to dispirit you.”

Have a Happy Fridee!!

So, If anyone has access to audio, I'd be much obliged.
"I am learning to say y'all and I like grits, and things," he joked with a Mississippi audience last night. "Strange things are happening to me."

Woman challenging healthcare law went bankrupt – with unpaid medical bills
Mary Brown, a 56-year-old Florida woman who owned a small auto repair shop but had no health insurance, became the lead plaintiff challenging President Obama's healthcare law because she was passionate about the issue.

Brown "doesn't have insurance. She doesn't want to pay for it. And she doesn't want the government to tell her she has to have it," said Karen Harned, a lawyer for the National Federation of Independent Business. Brown is a plaintiff in the federation's case, which the Supreme Court plans to hear later this month.

But court records reveal that Brown and her husband filed for bankruptcy last fall with $4,500 in unpaid medical bills. Those bills could change Brown from a symbol of proud independence into an example of exactly the problem the healthcare law was intended to address.

It's going to feel like that kind of day. WABC apparently had 5:33 of dead air during one break. That used to be unacceptable in radio which shows what's happened to that industry. And that does make you realize how long commercial breaks are.

Apparently in Rand's world, there are lolipop trees and cotton candy bushes.
