Four Thousand.... So?
Author: Raine    Date: 03/24/2008 12:36:02

On Sunday, March 23, 2008 America lost it's 4000th Soldier.
So?
It was a somber and sad milestone that happened ironically, on Easter Sunday.
So?
We tried to not let it happen.
So?

Last week on the Fifth Anniversary of B*sh's War the vice *resident said::
RADDATZ: Two-third of Americans say it's not worth fighting.
CHENEY: So?
RADDATZ: So? You donít care what the American people think?
CHENEY: No.[...]

So..

He doesn't care, But I do. 2/3 of Americans do. The mothers, fathers, wives, husbands, sisters, brothers, sons, daughters, partners, friends -- The loved ones of these soldiers do. The maimed, and the ones that will never be the same, care. The soldiers who HAVE come home, care.

So...
We care. Today, take a moment for the fallen, for those that will still fall and for those that we finally get home from B*sh's War.
SO...

Come you masters of war
You that build all the guns
You that build the death planes
You that build the big bombs
You that hide behind walls
You that hide behind desks
I just want you to know
I can see through your masks

You that never done nothin'
But build to destroy
You play with my world
Like it's your little toy
You put a gun in my hand
And you hide from my eyes
And you turn and run farther
When the fast bullets fly

Like Judas of old
You lie and deceive
A world war can be won
You want me to believe
But I see through your eyes
And I see through your brain
Like I see through the water
That runs down my drain

You fasten the triggers
For the others to fire
Then you set back and watch
When the death count gets higher
You hide in your mansion
As young people's blood
Flows out of their bodies
And is buried in the mud

You've thrown the worst fear
That can ever be hurled
Fear to bring children
Into the world
For threatening my baby
Unborn and unnamed
You ain't worth the blood
That runs in your veins

How much do I know
To talk out of turn
You might say that I'm young
You might say I'm unlearned
But there's one thing I know
Though I'm younger than you
Even Jesus would never
Forgive what you do

Let me ask you one question
Is your money that good
Will it buy you forgiveness
Do you think that it could
I think you will find
When your death takes its toll
All the money you made
Will never buy back your soul

And I hope that you die
And your death'll come soon
I will follow your casket
In the pale afternoon
And I'll watch while you're lowered
Down to your deathbed
And I'll stand o'er your grave
'Til I'm sure that you're dead

Thanks for all your well-wishes. Aunt Azalea is feeling better. Still, her lungs need much healing. Which reminds me: when we come to the meet-up we won't be attending any bars/restaurants that have smoking in them. Sorry for any of you smokers........ but her lungs just can't handle it.

yes, I figured that most of the 4F bloggers were not smokers, but not sure what the rules are in DC about smoking in public places. For the next 3-6 months she should not be anywhere where they even have "sections" for smoking.

For those that did not read it...

The reaction of some of Mr. Clinton’s allies suggests that might have been a wise decision. “An act of betrayal,” said James Carville, an adviser to Mrs. Clinton and a friend of Mr. Clinton.

“Mr. Richardson’s endorsement came right around the anniversary of the day when Judas sold out for 30 pieces of silver, so I think the timing is appropriate, if ironic,” Mr. Carville said, referring to Holy Week.

So Hillary's wearing her crown of thorns, nailed to her cross, while Bill Richardson is hiding in the bushes counting his money and regretting his decision.

So who's playing the parts of Pilate and the priests?

Is he f*cking kidding. He created the world where that happens. Mother F*cker. Those 4,000 boys and girls would be alive if it weren't for you, Dick! And, I say boys and girls, because on average they were, what? 21? 20? Even old enough to drink a beer before dying.

WTF?!?!?!?!?!

But as three Miami Democrats look to unseat three of her South Florida Republican colleagues, Wasserman Schultz is staying on the sidelines. So is Rep. Kendrick Meek, a Miami Democrat and loyal ally to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

That wasn't the case just two years ago when the pair flouted a long-standing Florida delegation agreement to not campaign against colleagues and vigorously backed Ron Klein in his winning bid to oust veteran Republican Rep. Clay Shaw.

This time around, Wasserman Schultz and Meek say their relationships with the Republican incumbents, Reps. Lincoln Diaz-Balart and his brother Mario, and Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, leave them little choice but to sit out the three races.

''At the end of the day, we need a member who isn't going to pull any punches, who isn't going to be hesitant,'' Wasserman Schultz said.

From the Miami Herald earlier this month.

It should be noted that Schultz is a very Vocal supporter of Hillary Clinton.

Call me crazy, but is it too much to ask for members of our own party try to support OUR OWN PARTY?!?!?!?!

My new lady friend doesn't smoke ( although she has copped to an occasional one when 'being social' ) so, I'll be cutting way down anyway!!!

One of your problems, it seems to me, is that you work late at night so you eat late, and, if your place is like many of the offices I've worked in........... has way too much junk and vending foods.

That's pretty much it. And when I get a lunch break, there isn't any place in walking distance and the only eating places near by are fast food, pizza, and Chinese. There are a couple of diners, but I don't have enough time for a sit down.

And most of the places are closed by 10 PM so if it's too late then it's grabbing something from 7-Eleven.

I think it's hillarious. Good satire is sometimes indistinguishable from reality...

Feh, who needs competition? Although I am sure that some people might be drawn in if they won't need two subscriptions for football and baseball. I think they should then rework the left channels so they have Air America full-time on one channel, a second channel for syndicated non-AAR hosts (ie Stephanie Miller, Mike Malloy etc.) and then the Sirius hosts can be on their own channel (Alex Bennett, Lynn Samuels).

Shane-O, if you ever get a chance, see if you can grab Rachel Maddow's trumpet fanfare. We have been looking for that as an audicon but not much luck.

I'll do my best - might take a few days, as I need to stream it into my computer, and wait for her to play it. I'll see what I can do.

Check your EPG for re-airs. Hopefully between the two PBS stations, one of them is repeating it.

NY Governor now admits to drug use. Hey, but no one talks about the drug use of a certain *resident, do they? We have now officially gone into TMI. Give it a rest.
