It's Going so Well.
Author: Raine    Date: 02/13/2017 14:14:43

Over the weekend we learned that North Korea launched a mid-range ballistic missile that flew about three hundred miles before falling into the water. It happened when Prime Minister Abe was meeting with the president at his club in Florida.

The two issued a joint statement.

Turns out, tRump chose not to read the prepared statement given to him:

Let's let CNN set the scene Saturday night:
Sitting alongside Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, with whom he'd spent most of the day golfing, Trump took the call on a mobile phone at his table, which was set squarely in the middle of the private club's dining area. As Mar-a-Lago's wealthy members looked on from their tables, and with a keyboard player crooning in the background, Trump and Abe's evening meal quickly morphed into a strategy session, the decision-making on full view to fellow diners, who described it in detail to CNN.

Trump's National Security Adviser Michael Flynn and chief strategist Steve Bannon left their seats to huddle closer to Trump as documents were produced and phone calls were placed to officials in Washington and Tokyo. The patio was lit only with candles and moonlight, so aides used the camera lights on their phones to help the stone-faced Trump and Abe read through the documents.... Waiters cleared the wedge salads and brought along the main course as Trump and Abe continued consulting with aides.

Punching the point home....

This is really getting dangerous.

Happy Monday!

and

Raine

Morning, comrades.

A successful day in the snow yesterday out at Jiminy Peak in Western Mass (even crossed into NY to get there). And a fun-filled four hour drive back home last night in the snow.

Here is my peeve of the day, specific to job-hunting:

Why ask me to upload my resume, and then make me fill out your tiny web forms with my work history too? Redundant, inefficient, and annoying. There was one potentially interesting job that I eventually abandoned the process because their website was from 1997.

Gives a hint to what the technical savvy there is like, not to mention the management style

Mornin' all..

Soo yeah who remembers Bear Stearns? They were the first big foundation to fall as a result of the Bush economy, dying as a result of their own ignorance to the damage they were doing by leveraging defaulted debt and shorting trades. They were also one of the firms that wasn't bailed out. And the guy who drove that brokerage house into the ground is gonna be one of Mnuchin's underlings.

Good morning, bloggers!!

I am gravely concerned that Donald J. Trump is the living embodiment of the Peter Principle, stating that someone will rise to the level of his incompetence. Unfortunately, I fear that this incompetence is what lead to deaths in Yemen and will likely continue to do so.

About 35 seconds in, wait for it. Shinzo Abe makes a great eye roll.

Off to the store in a few minutes. We had a delayed opening this am, but the conditions don't look that bad now.

As one of our Alternative Weathermen said this morning, "It just didn't get as big as we were expecting."

That does seem to provide more evidence that Trump can't read. And they even dumbed it down for him.

I am pretty pissed about this. ALL OF IT.
