Morning

Ok, I admit it, it was a lame attempt at humor.

Happy moving day Raine & Bob!

Morning, comrades!

Wake the kids and gather 'round - it's time for a Trisec Random Muse...

Remember this thing?

Seeing that it was just Labor Day...I drive past one firehouse on our tour, and I did see this out front, but most of the passers-by paying it no mind.

I can remember the whole Muscular Dystrophy telethon being an "event" when we were kids. Grandma and Mum would pile us in the car, and we'd drive down to the Saugus Fire Department to throw a few dollars in the boot. On the last weekend of summer, we'd have a big to-do in Grandma's backyard, last weekend before school and closing the pool.

We'd always make sure we knew when Frank Sinatra would be on the telethon, so most of us gathered inside around the Teevee to watch and sing along.

Do they even run the telethon anymore? Sure, Jerry Lewis is dead, and that whole telethon of his has been thoroughly discredited by now, hasn't it?

The Jerry Lewis telethon came to an end in 2012. In 2011, it was cut back to 6 hours on Sunday night and in the final year it was a 4 hour telecast on ABC. I also remember the Easter Seals and Muscular Dystrophy telethons since my mom used to watch all of them.

Sorry we've been so absent from the blog. We've been painting and packing non-stop (except for taking a week to relax on the beach). We'll have a few more days of moving the stragglers and cleaning up...

oh - and unpacking all those freakin' boxes too.

Looking forward to normalcy again.

Of course until 2012, I had the Jerry Lewis Telethon on both local channel 9 (WWOR) and on WGN Superstation/America.
