I ran to the store this morning after getting up early.
I will remind my students to get their essays in. I have reached out to them by phone or electronically.
Realistically, most teachers I talk to do not expect schools to reopen this semester. We may have, in our poorer communities, kids who were allowed to pass because they had no internet access nor computers to do their online assignments. This crisis should make Americans more aware of the digital divide and inequality in ournation.

It's very interesting not having direct office politics whilst working remotely. (Yes, even on-board a trolley.)
I've been subtly tangling with our Training Officer via proxies for months - many of the things I want to do, or have proposed or written up for references or training guides, have been met with complete indifference by our trainer. I'm at the point where the last class syllabus I wrote - something she requested, mind you - I sent to another colleague to review instead of the trainer. (It's all good, btw.)
In any case, I've just sent along a massive training guide I've been working on for almost a full year- it's all the little things that I think are getting missed in our regular training. It's gone straight to the General Manager and Operations Manager (my direct supervisor), although I said nice things about the Training Officer (damning with faint praise.)
Hold onto your butts; Office Politics via email, Covid-45 style!

Well, making what I anticipate to be my last car payment for a while!
Oh, it's not paid off, mind you - I don't expect to have the money to pay it next month.

Got a good trimming of my facial hair today. I was looking like a rabbi since I haven't shaved since I went in the hospital.
