Good Morning and Happy Thanksgiving! Today is one of my favorite Holidays.

I must say that this is the strangest Thanksgiving I have seen in a long time. It's a strange crossroad we find ourselves in this year. So many things that are scary and frightening and yet, so much to really be grateful for. I do not think that I am alone in feeling thankful that our nation has chosen a leader that will tackle the problems at hand with the rest of the country. We can be thankful that grownups are going to be in charge in just a few short weeks. The road ahead will long, and difficult, but at least we have leaders coming that recognize it and truly want to make things better.

I am grateful for family and friends. This year Bob and I were blessed with a new niece and nephew. A wonderful dog came into our life, Kizzy, and in the past few weeks Missy the cat showed up to, with the new kittens not far behind. It has been an amazing time.

Our Children, born to us, or in our families, will come to know a world that is not dominated by war and terror everyday. Many Children will come to know 9/11 as something in a history book instead of the beginning of every sentence from our leaders. These are wonderful things.

I am most thankful for you, my extended family. We have been thru a lot together. We have been lucky to have our F4 family grow together over the past year or so and I hope that we will have many more wonderful times together. It's a wonderful thing to have a place to come and not have to worry about well, things.

So today, I raise a glass to you, to America, to our troops, to the children, to all those that have gone before us and all that will come after and I say thank you for these blessings, and for the blessings that are already on the way.

Happy Thanksgiving.
:peace: and
Raine

Happy Thanksgiving to all!!

Off to Dad's in a few minutes to set up his new computer. Then it's time to get gorged and drunk :drinking:. A great day to be with family.

Except for those forced to work today in the chase for the holiday $ (K-Mart & others) . Here in the People's Republic of MA I think the Blue Laws forbid such shenanigans, unless something has changed in the last year or so.

Oh well... off I go.

When we built this place a little over a year ago, we invited some friends to come hang out. Here it is over a year later, and not only do we have our old friends still hanging out, we have a lot of new friends that have come to visit and decided to stay.

I'm thankful for all of my friends here (in addition to the stuff mentioned by Raine) and the work you all do to make our country a better place.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Happy Happy Joy Joy!

Sitting here watching the parade....those "under the sea" costumes seemed a bit skimpy, hmm?

We'll be heading out to Saugus soon...stopping in to visit an old friend I haven't seen in over a year. Then off to mum's for the annual gorging and drinking marathon. (Martinis for all!)

TR, I always enjoy driving by the deserted Burlington Mall on this day...I believe today and Christmas day are the only two days of the year that most stores are closed in this Commonwealth.

Bulldogs were not in the parade we are winners in the game between us. I also want to wish everyone a HAPPY and BLESSED THANKSGIVING may we all have many more and each one better than the last.

Hi ho and Happy Thanksgiving. Since I was visiting Momma and Poppa Mondo last week, I shall be going over to the owner-operator of the "Reich Room" a large collection WW II German army collectibles. Despite that Don is a solid citizen who opens his house to his friends today. A good time will be had by all.

UGA usually wins this rivalry game, but Tech has been kicking ass this year, so I have my hopes. I'd like to see Tech win this one "tween the hedges".

no offense.

btw - speaking of the parade....

when did it change from being a parade to being a showcase for every new teen singing product? Kee-rist, if I see another pubescent dye job sing another insipid over-produced song I may just hurl my giblets.

OK, I"m out! I may be back online far into the evening, but maybe not.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Darius Rucker (Hootie) singing country music in the Macy's parade....

We should have seen this coming when a black man became president.

It is the latest twist in his career. He has actually charted, well. I was listening to "News & Notes" on the NPR Mosheen he was being interviewed.

Was this parade produced by Star Search?

Well they don't stay teens very long.

Arggh. When Dad ordered his PC he did so without monitor. Well, the graphics card has 2 DVI ports and I obviously don't have a DVI/VGA adapter handy. So the setup must wait a few days.

Oh, and it's also way too tall to fit on his computer desk. At least he was able to get it with XP Pro installed rather than Vista.

A belated good day to everyone. I slept until almost noon today but then again I didn't get to bed until after 4 AM. Damn, these late shifts..

The Sirius XM Deep Tracks channel today was not only doing the Thanksgiving playing of Alice's Restaurant but they are mixing it in with songs from The Last Waltz and peace songs so it's an interesting mix.

And I still have to work today.

Niceee.. I've had my Radeon for just about a week and it kicks some serious butt. Very quiet too! Probably would've done just as well with the new nVidia card, but it wouldn't have fit in my case.

Is this Tennessee-Detroit game what passes for Thanksgiving football? Since Detroit sucks so badly this year, they shouldn't automatically be scheduled for Turkey Day.

It looks like the best game today will be on NFL Network but you have to be lucky enough to get it and it's not in the work building since Cablevision doesn't carry the channel.

over the river and through the woods to Grandmother's house we go...

(or - more accurately - over the interstate and through the subdivisions...)

anyway - be back later!

Wii Fit says I gained 3 pounds today.

At my parents' we chow down on the ravioli first, THEN if there's any room left it's filled with turkey. Then after that it's dessert.

My 14 yr old nephew was spewing the "Obama is a socialist" crap at me. WTF. Dunno where he got THAT from. At least he has no use for Caribou Barbie.

We had the usual.

My mom is too feeble to do much cooking, but she's not yet ready to yield the kitchen so she tries to direct everyone else... who DO know how to cook...

We managed to get everything done, and it was delish.

Then my family thinks nothing of discussing what they're going to be doing with my ex-wife when we're right there. Good gawd....

When the discussion turned to politics, my uber-Libertarian brother states he is voting for Chambliss in the run-off election because he doesn't want the Dems to have a filibuster-proof majority. He thinks it would be hunky dory if absolutely nothing got done.

My Dad, however, said HE was voting on Dec 2 and smiled like a cheshire cat. He'll be cancelling out my brother's vote.
