Good morning. I will fill in as best I can for our Loyal TriSec today. As We do every Tuesday, I present to you the stats From AntiWar.com

American Deaths
Since war began (3/19/03): 4147
Since "Mission Accomplished" (5/1/03) 4008
Since Capture of Saddam (12/13/03): 3686 3064
Since Handover (6/29/04): 3288
Since Election (1/31/05): 271

Today, we find the the Cost of war at $548,639,381,819 --the number counter is a stunner. $4,681 per household, $1,721 per person, $341.4 million per day.

Last night. we saw day one of the Democratic Convention. Inspiring? Oh yes. Touching, indeed. I cannot begin to fill the shoes of Tri Sec, but in honour of him, and our wonderful MAssachusetts blog delegation, I present to you , Senator Ted Kennedy on the floor of the Pepsi center, last evening. From Cspan:

Now -- that is what inspiration looks like.

According to IAVA, , Senator Kennedy rates B+, Senator Barack Obama a B+ and Senator John McCain a D. At a minimum, that is enough to tell you who truly supports our troops, and who does nothing but propagandize them.

In case anyone missed the Press Release, our friend Paul Reikoff and IAVA will be at the convention.
NEW YORK - Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA), the nation's first and largest nonpartisan organization for veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, will attend the upcoming Democratic National Convention. IAVA will meet with delegates and convention guests, raising awareness about the most critical issues facing the 1.7 million Iraq and Afghanistan veterans and highlighting our historic fight for the new GI Bill. IAVA spokespeople, including Executive Director Paul Rieckhoff, will be available throughout next week to respond to media requests.

"When Senator Obama makes his case to the American people next week, it's critical that he address the most urgent issues facing the 1.7.million men and women who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan," said Paul Rieckhoff, Executive Director of Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA). "IAVA's goal is to inject urgent issues like mental health care, traumatic brain injury and VA funding into the national political dialogue. How the next President cares for our country's newest generation of veterans will have significant, long-term implications for not only the servicemembers and their families, but the nation as a whole."

IAVA is also planning to host a major community service event for delegates and residents in Denver that will include preparing care packages for troops serving overseas. Several high profile guests are expected to attend. Additional details to follow.
He is right, it is critical that America make the right choice.

I am keeping this short today. These shoes of Tri's are big... :P

:peace: and
Raine
