#No Bill No Break
Author: Raine    Date: 06/23/2016 13:24:58

I was up until the wee hours in the morning watching a glorious and wonderful thing happening in the House of Representatives... and yesterday, it once again felt like the people's house.

We went to the Capitol last evening for a few hours and as we were leaving, more people were showing up.

Yesterday the GOP not only lost control of the House, but they lost control of the message. I don't know how the genie gets put back in the bottle after this. They shut the cameras off and yet - there was Periscope and FB live. They tried to disrupt the WiFi to no avail. I believe we have reached a breaking point.

Speaker Ryan called the sit-In a publicity stunt. The thing is - it's a good one. As Representative John Lewis said its #GoodTrouble.

Let's compare and contrast publicity for a moment:

Today, again, I am very proud to call myself a Democrat.

When I woke up, I turned C-SPAN on, and they are still occupying the House.

We probably should have stayed a little later, but the speakers were very difficult to hear. Still - it was neat that House reps would come out and say a few words to us, then go back in.

Elizabeth Warren and Katherine Clark. 'Nuff said.

The late Senator Kennedy may have been present there last night, too.

What's irritating me this morning is seeing posts from erstwhile liberals wondering "where were they on bombing Libya" or "why suddenly now? - oh yeah... it's election season".

I hate the "it's never enough" progressives. The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

Good morning, bloggers!!!

Despite some rough weather last night, I am in good shape here.

If someone finds the courage to take a stand, I think the best response is to say thanks before commenting on the past.

SCOTUS ruled on President Obama's immigration plan.

I fear that nothing will be done about immigration and many other major issues after the election.

I am busy applying to out of the Chicago/Northwest Indiana teaching jobs today. I heard back from a principal (a rare thing) and did not get a maternity leave sub job. It was a rare thing to get the acknowledgment that the position has been filled.

Is it me or is courtesy a rare thing for job seekers to find anymore?

And don't forget, Today is the Brexit vote in the UK which if they vote yes could have a big effect on the future of the EU. BBC World News will have full coverage tonight of course.

Trisec is wondering what combination of narcotics, NSAIDs and antibiotics might cause his liver to detonate?
