Cabinet of Deplorables
Author: BobR    Date: 11/30/2016 16:16:09

As the staffing positions for the looming tRump pResidency go from being penciled to inked, the Cabinet is increasingly being filled with a collection of some of the most ardent anti-progressives available (with rare exception). Here is the current list...

  • `Chief of Staff: Reince Preibus
    • Lawyer
    • Wisconsin political insider
    • Buddies with Paul Ryan

  • Chief Strategist: Steve Bannon
    • Breitbart exec
    • racist and anti-semitic
    • self-declared "Alt-Right"
    • stated: "Darkness is good: Dick Cheney. Darth Vader. Satan. That's power..."

  • Senior Communications Advisor: Jason Miller
    • Doesn't think flag-burning is constitutionally-protected free speech

  • White House Council: Donald McGahn
    • As Chair of FEC under Dubya, hindered reform efforts (related to spending)
    • Very tight with Koch brothers

  • Attorney General: Jeff Sessions
    • 1986 Judgeship denied due to racist leanings
    • anti-immigration (even legal immigration)
    • pro-war, pro-torture
    • pro "forfeiture" laws
    • anti-gay

  • National Security Advisor: Mike Flynn

  • CIA Director: Mike Pompeo
    • Part of Benghazi witch hunt
    • Opposes abortion and the ACA
    • Lifetime NRA member
    • Wants to re-institute massive metadata mining programs
    • Leaked supposedly secret details of the Iran nuclear deal

  • Secretary of Transportation: Elaine Chao
    • Deputy Sec'y of Transportation under Papa Bush
    • Labor Secretary under Dubya - failed to investigate minimum wage complaints or enforce mine safety
    • Married to Mitch McConnell

  • Secretary of Commerce: Wilbur Ross
    • Billionaire Investor
    • Corporate raider / vampire capitalist
    • Is invested in coal

  • Secretary of Education: Betsy DeVos

  • Secretary of the Treasury: Steven Mnuchin
    • Goldman-Sachs exec
    • As chair of OneWest bank, accused of redlining

  • Secretary of Defense: James Mattis
    • Actually - a pretty good choice

  • U.N. Ambassador: Nikki Haley
    • Current SC governor
    • Pluses: removed confederate flag, anti-HB2, pro-education
    • Minuses: pro-ID for voting, tax cuts, anti-abortion
    • None of her positions really have any bearing on the Ambassadorship

  • Health and Human Services: Tom Price
    • Orthopaedic Surgeon
    • Opposes the ACA
    • Wants to turn Medicare into a voucher system
    • Wants to turn Medicaid into a block-grant system
    • Wants to "overhaul" Social Security

  • Housing and Urban Development: Ben Carson
    • Neurosurgeon and presidential candidate
    • No experience at job
    • May not want it

These positions are not nailed down, but there are some definite short-listers:

  • Veterans Affairs: Scott Brown?
    • Former MA Senator

  • Homeland Security: Mike McCaul?
    • Currently Homeland Security Chair in the House

  • Secretary of the Interior:
    • Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin
    • Larry Nichols: Oil company exec
    • Palin??

  • Secretary of State: ?
    • Romney
    • Petraeus
    • Giuliani

The list for these are still pretty long...

  • Secretary of Agriculture: too soon to tell
  • Secretary of Labor: too soon to tell
  • Secretary of Energy: too soon to tell
  • EPA: too soon to tell
  • Office of Management and Budget: too soon to tell

Most of these positions need to be approved by Congress, so it's possible Dems could block the worst of them (i.e.: Sessions), but this Cabinet of Deplorables looks like something out of horror movie.

Gas prices will shoot up just in time for the Trump presidency. Although it might help the frackers go back in business.

And as for the DNC I REALLY think we need someone who understands state and local governments. We are losing everything starting there.

Trump supporters don;t care about Frackers.

They do -- however -- care about prices going up.

Yeah that had more to do with OPEC meeting than anything else. They are going to cut out put. Between yesterday and today, the price of regular unleaded went up 10 cents.

Look. Donald. I can’t even really be mad at you. You’re an empty shell of a human with a heart of gold-spray-painted coal. All you wanted was a bigger podium where you could talk about your penis.

On the poisoning America part. Don't even think of dropping some link about how awful Monsanto is Scoop. I will bury you under links to peer reviewed science on this topic.

Actually my beef with them is the production of carcinogenic pesticides, or the thing where they patent their seeds then turn around and sue farmers whose non-Monsanto crops were cross-pollinated from neighboring fields.

Seemingly FANTASTIC news from North Carolina - Cooper's lead over McCrory is now more than 10,000 votes, which puts it beyond the state law mandate for a recount.

If you mean Roundup, that is classified by IARC as a Class 2A carcinogen.
"The term "agent" encompasses both substances and exposure circumstances that pose a risk. This designation is applied when there is limited evidence of carcinogenicity in humans as well as sufficient evidence of carcinogenicity in experimental animals. Meaning they have to pump a shit ton of glyphosate (active ingredient in Roundup) into a test animal to see any tumors.

Here is a little something on the toxicity of glyphosate.

As to Monsanto suing farmers, myth number two on this list.

As them patenting seeds. Ever seed company does this and they have been doing for as long as they could patent seeds.

I told you I have a metric crap-ton of citations.

ok, or you can understand that I personally have issues with Monsanto.

Be wary of looking like an apologist. I know you have your research, Mondo.

And NO, every seed company does not do that. There are seed companies that do the opposite of it.

I want to make this clear because I am really kinda irritated with throwing links prove a point that no one brought up -- I am not anti-GMO -- I have issues with Monsanto. I will not be told that I should have no issues with the company.

And I am not gonna be told that it's me believing in woo. Once again, I think we should all respect each other.
