When the history books are written of this time of our lives, I pray they will be as ugly as it is living through it in real-time.

I woke up this morning scanning the news about our nation & the world and it is not pretty at all. It is ugly.

So tomorrow, election day, vote where you can. Vote blue. We are in the middle of an impeachment inquiry, and as thus, the occupant of the White House will remain there for the foreseeable future.

But, in Kentucky, Mississippi and Louisiana there are governors races.

In Virginia, All 140 seats in the House of Delegates and the State Senate are on the ballot. If the tide turns blue, Our nation may finally see the ERA become a part of the Consitution.
If Democrats win control of the legislature, they would join with Northam to consolidate control of state government for the first time in a generation. They have promised swift action on a number of priorities in addition to gun control: passage of the Equal Rights Amendment, an increase in the minimum wage and greater spending on transportation.

“All you got to do is pick up a couple seats in two houses and everything changes,” Biden told the enthusiastic crowd at the office park. “You don’t want to wake up like in 2017 and have to pull a name out of a hat.”

Biden was referring to the race for House of Delegates in Newport News in 2017 between Del. David E. Yancey ® and Democratic challenger Shelly Simonds that ended in a tie that was broken when a state election official pulled Yancey’s name out of a bowl on live national television. Three other races were nearly as close.
We are voting for our City's elected representatives here in Maryland. We will be casting our votes.

Voting is where we need to start saying no to tRumpism, at the ballot box, just like we did in Virginia in 2016 and last year by taking back the house of representatives on the national level. These are small acts of impeachment and they matter.

Eleven years ago today, this nation elected Barck Hussein Obama as the 44th President of the United States. It's hard to imagine how quickly we have digressed since that awful night in 2016. It is up to all of us to do one small and revolutionary act: VOTE.

Change can happen. We have to be the change.

and

Raine

Morning

I'm a little concerned in my District, looks like all the candidates decided to be more environmental conscious about mailers and signs (which is great) BUT every where I see are the giant Repub signs. Also I have received, currently, 29 mailers from the repub and nothing from the incumbent, and the Repub mailers have been very ugly. I actually know the guy (Repub) cause he used to live 1 street over, he's a piece of crap only interested in furthering his business he did nothing when he lived in the neighborhood the help the community. Really worried that he's going to eek it out.

Yikes.

That doesn't sound good.

This is the guy he's talking about.

Esposito has broken into the international market, landing top-dollar Ukrainian clients last year and collecting $1.65 million from Chinese tech giant Huawei in a three-month period this year, according to lobbying records. In all, Esposito’s firm, Federal Advocates, pulled in five times as much money in 2018 as it did in the year before Trump took office, records show.

Fueling that rise, at least in part, are Esposito’s claims that he is uniquely positioned: a former Capitol Hill staffer who is close to centers of power in the Trump administration.

Esposito has “an open line of communication to the President of the United States” and is in “regular” contact with the president, Federal Advocates wrote in three contract bids reviewed by The Washington Post. The same proposals say Esposito worked with the president’s son Eric Trump and son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner on real estate deals. And the firm’s website calls Esposito “an integral part of the senior-most leadership” of the Republican National Committee.

Hi all.

Wing-dinger of a mayor's race here in Waltham. A twenty-plus year incumbent is facing a legitimate challenge from a city councilor. I'm friendly with both candidates - Mayor McCarthy is a longtime friend (and helped Javi with his Eagle Project), while the challenger and I once ran on the same ticket a decade ago when we were trying to break into local politics. (She won, I didn't).

The brother of my oldest friend in Waltham is running for City Council, and several other friends I have around the city are up for various offices here.

All Politics is Local indeed!
