Good Morning. I watched a little bit of the debate last night.

WaPo has a good write up on it as I am sure many papers do. We can discuss the substance and the pro or cons os the candidates, but this stood out.
The first one-on-one debate of the cycle allowed the candidates to talk for long stretches, and the moderators gave them time for a lengthy back-and-forth without interruption. But the debate also was somewhat subdued; the lack of a studio audience meant no interruptions from cheering supporters. The candidates also seemed mindful of broader concerns in the nation, although that did not entirely preclude some punching.

After last night, I believe we should return to this format. It began that way with Nixon and Kennedy. It was a far more serious discussion with no distractions. It was a sober instead of a circus. No more reality/Game show debates.

Stay healthy out there today, and this week.

and

Raine

Holy schnike, watching the dow drop like Wile E Coyote off a cliff.

Greetings, comrades!

Still safe in the TriSec bunker, although I'm headed for Providence today to pick up Javi. Campus remains open, but all his culinary classes have been cancelled - he's giving up.

In hoarding and shopping news, we're down to about a 6-day supply of toilet paper. Facial tissue remains plentiful and will do double-duty soon. (Ha! he said 'duty').

And I have plenty of rice and root vegetables and black beans. I'm curious why people made a run on quickly-expiring citrus fruits, chicken, and animal flesh. You can last a whole lot longer on other things when society collapses.

Anyway, I digress.

Good morning. Today I have a cold on top of everything else.

Is it just me, or is it weird that Russia seems to not have any cases to report.

Typical Russian secrecy. I expect the same from N. Korea, although in the latter case, their tight border policies may be a blessing for them.

Given everything that is closed in this city, I've been expecting the phone call since 7am.

We've just shut down - two weeks right now.

By the grace of Allah, I'm a salaried employee and will get paid for the next two weeks, it's all my hourly guys that are going to suffer right now.

I have heard that this Commonwealth has relaxed all the requirements for unemployment, so basically they can sign up tonight and start collecting immediately.

The Washington, DC operation is also shutting down, but no other cities right now.

Yay! I guess no more toilet paper hoarding.

Oh, there's TP hoarding - there still wasn't any left. Raine said there was a huge line to get bottled water - which makes no sense...

I did go to Providence to pick up Javi today, but as I just posted - I found toilet paper! Had to go to Foxboro to get it, though.

If you've got an Ocean State Job Lot anywhere near you, they seem to have it, and they are enforcing a limit of 2 per customer, so they may have it for a while.

We're back up to a two-week supply now. (13 rolls.)
