For Now

Yesterday was a good day for France and, while not as highlighted as much, Slovenia. The country rejected the 'right-wing populist' leader, who happened to support TFG.
Slovenia's opposition Freedom Movement party won the largest share of the vote in Sunday's election, beating right-wing populist Prime Minister Janez Jansa's Slovenian Democratic Party by about 10 percentage points and making Freedom Movement leader Robert Golob the likely next prime minister.

Jansa is an effusive admirer of former U.S. President Donald Trump and a key ally of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban. Slovenia's election was "a noteworthy test for the appeal of right-wing populism" in Europe, The New York Times reports, and Jansa's evident defeat, along with Marine Le Pen's loss in France on Sunday, was a "significant setback" for "Europe's once surging movement of nationalist populists."

Jansa, like Orban, had pushed his small European Union nation to the nationalist right, drawing accusations of mounting authoritarianism. But unlike the newly re-elected Orban, Jansa publicly supported Ukraine and criticized Russian President Vladimir Putin's invasion.
So for now two countries have rejected radicals to lead their country. For Now. Le Pen lost by a smaller margin than she did 5 years ago.

I am more and more disliking the term, 'Right-Wing Populist' being used instead of what this movement is: Fascist White Nationalist Supremecy. I guess that it's a little too radical for the media to call it out for what it is. Populist political movements generally are extreme no matter where they are on the spectrum of politics.

For now, the Fascists have been put on hold. Let's do the same here in the USA next Novemeber.

Elon Musk Twitter Deal On Track

Greetings, comrades!

Woodbadge is finished for another cycle. Two and a half years down, another eighteen months to go!

I am hopeful that some ideas I had from this course may come to fruition nationally. Two of our course mentors actually sit on the National Council. We'll see if any of this gets any traction.

I remain though, always afraid that one day I will make my usual farewell to many of my dearest scouting friends at such a time - "Until we meet again" and then we never will.

Such is the nature of life, I suppose.
