“The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.”
George Orwell, 1984

I don't often quote from 1984 because everyone else does. This week, something hit me in a way that made the quote above come to my mind. I know the administration lies about everything, but when they lie about the injuries of our troops fighting in a war of choice, it feels different. Read this:
The Pentagon acknowledged an additional 142 service members wounded in President Donald Trump's Iran war by quietly adding a new category to its online database of U.S. military casualties, according to reports Sunday.

The change also resulted in the restoration of four fatalities that had been removed from the Defense Casualty Analysis System, triggering outrage among military families, veterans and lawmakers. (snip)

The new category, titled "Overseas Operations," tallies casualties — including the deaths of 1st Lt. Tyler James Feehan, Sgt. Angel S. Rampersad, Pvt. Isabella Gonzales and Sgt. Michael Emmanuel Swinton —inflicted by Iran since July 7, when fighting resumed following a fragile ceasefire that began April 8.

Earlier casualties are listed in a category called "Operation Epic Fury," the name given to the war Trump launched without congressional authorization on Feb. 28. Outgoing Republican Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky has called it an "absurd ruse" to separate the war's casualties by date.
From CNN:
The Defense Casualty Analysis System, or DCAS, also featured a new tracking category — “Overseas Operations” — for killed and wounded “starting July 7.”

When the new Pentagon data is combined with updated totals for Operation Epic Fury, 18 troops have died and another 624 have been wounded since the US launched its war against Iran on Feb. 28. The number of wounded is a significant increase from the previous peak of 482 observed by CNN last week.(snip)

The Defense Department’s acting press secretary, Joel Valdez, insisted in a Thursday social media post that the decreases were due to “temporary data disruptions on the (DCAS) website.” CNN observed data glitches that led to fluctuating casualty totals when monitoring the DCAS site on a minute-by-minute basis last week.
I have a friend whose son was THERE when this war started (he's home now), but I cannot imagine how I would feel if I saw this administration manipulating the war dead and wounded just for one man's fragile ego. Seriously not counting war dead because there was a so-called cease fire? They're manipulating the numbers to get around the 1973 War Powers Act.

It's appalling, yet so on the nose for these fascist ghouls.

Good morning, bloggers!!!

I expect this administration to lie about everything and spin all information to support their positions. We cannot trust anything this administration has to say.

On a personal note, I am taking my reading skills test for my special education license. After this, it will be another test on special education and I will be fully licensed.

While I doubt that Trump read Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray, the fake image reminds me of how Dorian Gray looked to the outside world while his picture showed the true age and corruption. Only, this is the reverse as reality shows Trump's age and corruption.

My former Senator:

It’s beyond disgraceful – this administration is cooking the books on the number of casualties and injuries in their war of choice.
