Good Morning.

You may have heard yesterday that two US servicemen have been killed in Afghanistan. Despite all the flowery promises, war does go on.

But I am more perturbed by the reporting. I intended to write about it today, but neither of my prime military news sources, Military.com, or militarytimes.com, has made mention of it. (Of course, websites are always in motion - the stories could be there by the time you click those links.)

Indeed, I had to go overseas to find anything - this from UK's "The Independent", and even they had minimal information about it.

Two American soldiers have been killed in an Isis raid in north-central Iraq.

The troops died in a joint operation with Iraqi Security Forces on Sunday night, military officials confirmed.

Their names are being withheld until their families are notified.

The troops were part of a mission to eliminate an Isis stronghold in the region, according to the Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve, the US-led effort under the US Department of Defense organised against Isis in Iraq and Syria in 2014.

No further details were immediately available.

No matter what our "National Priorities" are in the Trump era, it's clear that Veterans are furthest from the top of that list.
