That my friends is a quote from Congressperson Paul Ryan. Here is the full quote for context: How do you top that on a Monday morning?
I know that many people are probably tired of all the Ryan/Romney talk over the weekend. It appears that Romney is too. He's cancelled a campaign stop due to exhaustion. It's understandable, considering he is not only the former governor of Massachuseets, but also the former governor of Virginia.... From Boston Globe reporter Matt Viser: That's right folks, The next President of the United States introduced the former governor of Virginia as the next President... What the Wha? Don't tell Mitt that. Matt Viser also tweeted out this gem:
Well this choice was Romney's and Romneys alone, as Ben Smith reports over at Buzzfeed: Less than 3 days in and this has disaster written all over the place.

Upon taking the stage, Ryan become visibly emotional, wiping his eyes. He blew kisses to the crowd. His first words on the stump were, "Hi, Mom."
Joking that half the crowd were his relatives, Ryan talked up his Midwestern roots and his love for his home state.
"My veins run with cheese, bratwurst, and a little Spotted Cow and some Millers," Ryan said, his voice cracking with emotion. "I even think ice fishing is interesting."

Presumptive Republican Presidential Nominee Mitt Romney will be touring the state of Florida today, but he is no longer visiting Orlando, his campaign announced late Sunday night.
Romney is said to be exhausted after 48 hours of promoting his new vice presidential pick, Paul Ryan, the Orlando Sentinel reported.
@mviser Oops. Paul Ryan, with Romney to his right: "This is a man who, when he was governor of Virginia…"
@mviser Matt Romney: "You just introduced him as the next president." Mitt: "No, I didn't." Matt: "Yes, you did." Ann: "Yes, you did." Mitt corrects
Well this choice was Romney's and Romneys alone, as Ben Smith reports over at Buzzfeed:
"Everybody was against [Ryan] to start with only Romney for," said one top Republican, who is skeptical of the choice and griped that Romney's top advisors have "been giving Mitt everything he wanted in this campaign."

And Romney's own aides, in conversations with reporters over the last day, have also made clear that the candidate himself, not his advisors, drove the Ryan choice, something they have put in the context of Romney's forceful leadership.
"He made his decision to select Congressman Ryan," advisor Myers said. "It was his decision alone."

This MIGHT explain what happened on the Boston radio scene last week.
Rush Radio failure complete.
The station that used to carry Stephanie and Air America, got flipped to Rumba, then got a 5x power increase to get flipped to Rush Radio has flipped again.
Clear Channel gave up on AM Conservative talk in Boston, Rush was re-signed by his former Entercom outlet, the other on-air talent on AM1200 is gone. In its place is running a loop signaling the coming of GAFFE Radio.
The loop is a mixture of "Left" gaffes (57 states, Howard Dean's YEAAAAAAAGH, Bill Clinton's sexual perversions), "Right" gaffes (almost anything that Bush the Lesser said, DO IT LIVE, Reagan's "We'll begin bombing in 5 minutes", Rmoney's I like to fire people) and local gaffes (anything that Mumbles Menino says).
I think what Clear Channel found out is that Boston prefers, LIVE AND LOCAL, as practiced on the FM side at 96.9. Rush's former home (WRKO) was able to hold out long enough for Clear Channel to give up and get him back, where he will likely get a good part of his listeners back as a lead-in to Howie Carr.
Where will the gaffes come from....... ;)
In any event, this appears to be a totally new format for Clear Channel which is springing up in many markets. Will be interesting to see what becomes of it.

its not that big a pavilion - its a nice pavilion but not that big.
now I will tell you there was a crowd in the parking lot where we have the farmers market (also not a big space)
we are a small independent city of only 40K people, most of them avoided old town. At 2pm when I got to the OFA office opening there was still tons of parking in our little parking deck. Plus I have to wonder, other then the restaurants, did these people got to any of our businesses, I doubt it.

its not that big a pavilion - its a nice pavilion but not that big.

When I realized what NBC did I went to reprogram my TiVo to catch the Who and accidentally saw a few seconds of Animal Practice. Don't think I've recovered yet. Absolutely abysmal.

President Barack Obama will announce on Monday that the Department of Agriculture intends to buy up to $170 million of pork, lamb, chicken and catfish to help support farmers suffering from the drought, a White House official said.
The food purchases will go toward "food nutrition assistance" programs, like food banks.

I think that we should see some effort to tie Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney -- who tout their faith -- in with Ayn Rand. So, here is what a friend let me know about via Alternet:
I think that progressives need to educate the public about Ryan's positions and their inspiration. While Alternet is not exactly the favorite source here, I think that there are some good articles. We seem to now have a Republican party which is now openly calling for tearing up the social safety net.

supposedly there is an up tick in people volunteering for them - I'm wondering if that will trail off after the bump.
I know that in our local OFA office (just opened Sat 2 blocks from that crazy mess) all the sign up sheets were full in 4 hours.
I have a bunch of pix I need to up load. Sat was fun - got a pix of Terry Mcauliffe dancing with a kid singing group. XD

However, if I am stuck here in NW Indiana I will be focusing perhaps a little less on politics than I would in Massachusetts. I just heard that Crap Channel bought WOR here in New York and the rumors are that it will either be just more syndicated righties or it will flip to whatever 1200 in Boston is trying to do. And I heard about how Clear Channel killed FNX in Boston just recently losing a great alternative station to another crappy 300 song playlist channel.
