Dear Republican Friends....

What the hell is wrong with you? Seriously.

I've known some of you for a short time...others for a few years...and some of you I have literally grown up with. I don't remember such a level of pig-headedness and stupidity over these years. Hell, I would have never befriended some of you if you had behaved like you have over the last year.

I barely know where to begin. When did you become idiotic parrots? You must have your own opinions and ideas, but whenever I see you online or on those rare occassions we dare to talk politics face-to-face, it's all the same thing, from the same source. I know Republicans tend to walk in lock-step, but this is really ridiculous. You've had that "turnabout is fair play" thing by labeling our network "MSNDC", but it really isn't the same as Faux Gnus. I don't know about you, but when I read CNN, BBC, Al-Jazeera, or even my local newspaper...the stories are different. You bring Fox, Newsmax, Breitbart, and who knows what else, and they're all working from the same source.

But then there's the information content. It truly boggles my mind that you throw your one-sourced news at me as "fact", when in about 30 seconds I can find a half-dozen sources that debunk what you're telling me. I can barely begin to think of all the instances....but two this week spring readily to mind. You've told us that Union workers in NJ have turned away their non-union brethren from out of state, but the power company's own website debunks that...and Mitt has Jeep sending jobs to China, but even the CEO of Chrysler says that's an outright lie.

Speaking of lying....my, oh my, what is going on there? "All politicians Lie". Sure they do, but maybe our guy has to cover something up for security purposes, or maybe he's just misdirecting a little for the sake of expediency. Your guy....well, every time he opens his mouth he seems to contradict something he already said. Don't get upset when we find the videotape of his previous statement. That's not attacking the messenger; there is something wrong with the messenger here.

Over the last few days, I've actually had kind words for a Republican. Governor Christie is devastated; you can see it whenever he makes an appearance. You think about it for a minute...if your house was in pieces in the street, if the President or the Governor dropped by your house, you'd shake his hand and accept whatever help he's offering, wouldn't you? Or does your ideology go so far that you can't accept that under all that, we're still humans...and Americans together?

I just can't fathom what is going on in your mind anymore. Especially for some of you that I've known since we were 13.....when did this happen? When did you become so susceptible to propaganda and lies that you stopped thinking? What is it that makes you tick now?

And please...do me a favor and don't turn this back on me. I don't think that our side has gone so far off the rails that we can't even find the trackbed anymore. I might have my own ideas about the President and his Challenger....but I still think. You'll never find me spouting off propaganda that was broadcast on "MSNDC"....primarily because they don't do that. Oh, maybe Olbermann did, but where is he now? Nay....I find a lot of the things that I read and see are quite revelationary, but then again I'm not a single-source voter. I can take the time to be intellectually curious and dig in and find out things that you couldn't be bothered with.

Finally....let's just think a wee bit about the humanity. Mitt Romney is the most disconnected, out of touch candidate I believe I have ever seen. Every time he does anything, it's a photo-op, or a campaign stop, or something that the "idle rich" wouldn't bat an eyelash at. That "relief rally" of his being just the latest example. The President might also have that feel of being aloof and disconnected, but I blame the firewalls of his office for most of that. I think you saw the real president when he was out touring with Governor Christie. There is still that human touch that Mitt has never been able to exhibit.

So....this Tuesday, I'll make the right choice, and you'll make the wrong one; nothing I've said here is going to convince you. But someday, I hope maybe you can come back to reality with the rest of us. Good Luck.

Tri, you knocked this out of the park!

This week in particular, I have been scratching my head wondering this about some friends I have known since high school as well. Thank you for writing this.

I have definitely noticed how the right-wing stays in its bubble and it seems like they don't have to be factual, they just want to believe what they are told. At least in the days of Firing Line or even the McLaughlin Group before Fox News and right-wing talk radio and web you could disagree on the conclusion but the facts were not in dispute.

Hal Sparks is on SiriusXM Left right now. They picked up his show and I only learned about when he mentioned it at the meet-n-greet after the show.

Angry black lady is on and it's fun listening on SiriusXM with no censoring on the language just like at the Sexy Liberal show last week.

I caught the last few minutes of Hal Sparks WCPT program before he went on to Sirius. He said that he is going to work with WCPT on his program and scheduling.

TriSec, I think you hit the nail on the head with this blog. We have Americans living in alternate realities that do not seem to meet.
