Howdy, folks.

T248 survived our wintry excursion...I don't think it got above 15 degrees on the entire weekend, plus we got 10 inches of snow, too!

Say gang, while most of my elders served in the Pacific, I would be remiss if I didn't note that 69 years ago today, my Great Uncle Michael (and brother Trisec's namesake) was at least very concerned about what the Germans were doing in the Ardennes.

(He was with Patton - wasn't quite in the scrum yet.)

Interesting. Was he hanging out with Patton or was he actually in one of the many divisions that made up the 3rd Army. That is what Mondo wants to know. If possible Mondo would like the division, regiment and company

Comment by Mondobubba on 12/16/2013 18:04:27
Poppa Mondo was with Company E, 354th Infantry, 86th Infantry AKA the Blackhawk division. The Chicago NHL team is named for said division.

Number 8 on the Hack List: Peggy Noonan.

Peggy Noonan spent a lot of time living in a house — a cabin, perhaps, or maybe a modest split-level ranch, with a golden retriever tied up out back — called Ronald Reagan’s brain. And it was comfortable in that house, the furniture was lived-in and the television only played “F Troop” and every night children rang the doorbell to trick-or-treat or sing Christmas carols, and it wasn’t long before Peggy Noonan just stopped leaving that house.

This year's hack list is the snarkiest thing in a history being a wise ass that Alex Pareene has done.
