Good morning, bloggers!! I hope that everyone is well. (I slept in a bit as I had yard work.)

Think Progress reports that a police officer threatened to shoot a reporter. (NSFW -- Language.)

Attempting CPR! Here is a story from Mother Jones on the history of racial violence in the St. Louis area.

Still just waking up and getting my pile of work organized.

Totally up for talking about the craziness of House of Cards. Yes, I am as shallow as a kiddie pool these days.

hm? Oh no - caller into the show saying protesters were throwing axe handles, feces and wiffle balls with nail at the cops in Ferguson. No pun intended but he pulled it from his butt.

Yeah.. wish I coulda gotten the appointment sooner. They didn't even have any cancellation spots I could jump into that were convenient with work.

This one hurts a LOT more than the last time.. I think because it's lower jaw. I felt the vike kick in but it's still only making a small difference, and I'm reluctant to take another one.

Crazy - I had to wait a month to finally get into the oral surgeon's office. Aleve helped after the first day.

Oh and I just found out that Narco is generic for Vivoden. I did not know this.

Rumor is he's looking for a lobbying position but it takes a year to be eligible after leaving office.

Functionally, they haven't had representation for a lot longer.

Unless you're part of the 1% or a member of AIPAC.

For anyone following the Market Basket fiasco, it looks like vendors are starting to abandon ship because of late / erratic payments

The seafood supplier, after sending a threatening letter after Market Basket fell behind 2 weeks in payments, got a check OVERPAYING by more than $400K. Needless to say, he's dumbfounded.

There could only be two answers to these accumulating mistakes and self-destructive strategies. One was that the CEOs were way over their heads. How many mistakes like this were being made? How would the shareholders from either side of the feuding family feel knowing that mistakes of this magnitude were being made? The only other explanation seemed to be a deliberate attempt to sabotage the future of the company.

Makes you wonder. Looks like a deliberate trashing of the company because reasons.

Anyone wishing to follow the employees and customers plight can visit "Save Market Basket" on FB.

TR, I saw that and was just like WTF?!

Missing payments, followed by a gross overpayment? That's a sign of severe mismanagement. How people like that even get into a position of corporate executive leadership I will NEVER know or understand.

One of the co-CEO's has already driven a supermarket chain into the ground, the other drove Radio Shack to life support. Twice the suck.

Every day it seems that the trashing of the company is deliberate, out of spite. And nothing can be done about it, unless they screw up so badly it gets the attention of the AG. Gov. Patrick really needs to stay out of it.

I'm headed home soon so I'll make an ice pack when I get there.

And to the bosses' wife. She offered me some graham crackers for sustenance, noting that they turn mushy in the mouth after just a few seconds.

Suddenly I feel about 30 years older.

Of note: I am awaiting word from a charter school in Atlanta about a part-time position. It's one that just opened up, with an emphasis on serving students on the ASD spectrum. This would be a good thing, especially since I have been toying with the idea of going on disability.

It all started when one of the "shareholders" switched sides from Arthur T DeMoulas to Arthur S. At that point, Arthur S took over, fired Arthur T from his CEO position and hired the current co_CEO arsonists. It even extended to a family owned country club, where the staff that was loyal to Arthur T was fired in the middle of a country club event.

So yes, the people working in the office and the warehouses, seeing the writing on the wall that they were about to take big pay/benefit cuts, decided to not show up to work. And the customers also saw the writing on the wall that prices were about to go up just like every other market and started staying away, business was off 90%.
