Morning, folks. Checking the headlines, I see the Patriots won the superbowl. Which means I didn't hallucinate that last night. I'm sorry, there is just no way that football game ended the way it did.

I found it to be really disturbing.

Worse than Peyton manning singing the theme song.

NBC's free online streaming cut out all the commercials. It was quite wonderful.

Hi, everyone. I am off today due to the 5th largest snowstorm in Chicago's history. O'Hare got 19.3 inches of snow. One town just south of me got 18.8 inches of snow, and another not too far away got 20 inches. Here is a shot of the front of my house before I shoveled for two and a half hours this morning.

Now for the backyard. Note that the ground was essentially snow free except for a few small patches before the storm. We got February's average snowfall in one day.

Ya know, I wonder if it's worth transporting all this excess snow out to the Sierra Nevadas, where it can melt and do some good alleviating the drought.

If it is cost effective, I have no objection.

And we got a lovely coating of ice today so I won't be going out today and risking falling on my ass again in the ice since I did that last year.

Comment by wickedpam on 02/02/2015 19:29:43
That's a lot of snow.

This bridge is a big one in Atlanta.

A spokesperson said police found a tube shaped object duct taped to the side of the bridge over the interstate at the base of a pole.

The bomb squad just detonated the device. it was a a loud boom, no apparent damage to the bridge.

Atlana had been shut down for close to two housers.

Just to give an idea: Traffic map of the area.

I have suffered through just enough Atlanta traffic to know how messed up this was.

Eep! That would be like closing the Zakim Bridge, or The Split. (Sorry, local traffic references.) I regret the only highway I know in Atlanta is the one you fly over just before touching down at ATL - I don't even know what number it is.

Depends on the approach - could be I-75, I-285, or I-85.

I saw that ad. I think it's trolling. You know what you get when you buy a case of Bud. It ain't fancy, but given a 90-degree New England August day, and that's what's buried in ice in the cooler....it'll taste pretty good, won't it?

I'll drink my Sams later when I can sit and enjoy it, instead of fending off heat stroke.

We were at a party with fellow craft beer lovers…

all I can say is that Bud insulted the very demo that they wanted to entice and (this is important)

That pumpkin peach ale they insulted? They bought the craft brewery that made it.

F*K Budweiser.
