Kris Kobach can't lawyer good.

Robinson also detailed Kobach's many, many procedural fuckups in the course of the trial, especially his frequent attempts to bring in new evidence he hadn't provided to the plaintiffs during pre-trial discovery, which of course is just plain not allowed. There's a lot of "disingenuous" and "misleading" in the ruling, and Robinson's frustration with Kobach's bad lawyering is obvious. So he has to take some additional law classes in order to keep his law-talking license, neener-neener.

Good morning, bloggers!!!

Raine, I understand. I am ashamed of my country today.

We are in a crisis, fighting for the soul of this nation. We are divided between those who support liberty, justice, and compassion and those who despise compassion, view law as a means of settling scores, and sees freedom as primarily an economic term for the wealthy. Everyone else is free to suffer in poverty while the benefits are to go to the 1 percent and will trickle down to the less deserving. However, they never do.

It is easy to despair. I am angry, yet I think that we need to move past despair into determination. We need to be as determined, in our own time, as those who opposed slavery, fought for the rights of minorities such as African-Americans and Native-Americans, the rights of women to vote and have equality, and fought for the rights of the LGBT community.

There must be no surrender and no retreat. We must pursue every legal means to oppose a policy that separates families and imprisons children. We are standing up for those who cannot stand for ourselves. I have never seen our nation so divided in our lifetime, and I have to wonder where we will go as a nation from here.

(I realized that I borrowed the line no surrender, no retreat from an episode of Babylon 5, where many people opposed a fascist regime that had taken over Earth. I pray that our situation does not become as desperate as the characters in this video. )

I am trying to take it easy on reading too many of these articles today. I really am feeling over whelmed this morning.

That said I am glad I am not alone with that thought , Mondo. They just awful people, the whole lot of them.

It might, let me play with it. Mom suggested we move our "Our America" flag to the middle of the yard from by the rose bush. I think adding more too it might help too. Thinking about breaking out my sewing machine too, at the very least I can manage a straight line

Chinese investment in the US drops 90+% so far this year.

This brings up another awfully important point that NO ONE is even thinking about right now - ALL THE FEDERAL BONDS THAT CHINA HOLDS. What happens if & when they finally get sick of the tariff bullshit and just call in payment on those bonds?

The whole way this was handled speaks to the gross incompetence of Cheetolini's administration. It's like the Muslim ban. they went ahead with it without you know, asking for legal opinions, what the optic would be etc, all that stuff that people who know what they are doing would have done. Nope, not these fools. Let's just dump a terrible policy out there. Double or triple down on, try to shift the blame on a bed of lies and when the heat is too much to handle, back off on it a little. Then, when they think no one is looking, try it again. Repeat.

Did anyone catch Malcolm Nance on this morning? It does make me scared that if we don't win the mid-terms that democracy could be dead in this country. And how many people could be very well be under Russian control? Especially when you realize how much of the far right in both Europe and the United States is being bankrolled by Russia. He even used the Hydra analogy.

It also SPECIFICALLY mentions that children can STILL be taken out of the custody of their parents depending on the "welfare of the child".

In other words, they can do it at whim, for whatever reason they wish, and claim it's for the good of the children.

he not going to release families. he's got 30 days before the children have to be released -- is he going to detain the parents and release the kids to foster care>

It's NOT a fix as I can see thus far.

I need a little help here. I thought this Zero tolerance policy bagan in April.

In this video, Congressman Beyer talks to a father who came through a Point of Entry in MARCH and they separated the kid from his dad.


They brought the father up to Ann Arundel County in Maryland.

Well considering the Executive Order is not going to reunite the families that are already separated, I wouldn't be surprised that it's going on longer than what we have been told.
