I spent a good portion of the weekend doing weekend things.
It was a good thing. I love living in our little bubble, I am not gonna lie about that. At one point, we were entering a hotel down at the DC wharf to go to a bar recommended to us. In the lobby, getting ready to check in -- did I say this was in Washing ton DC? The Wharf? -- and older couple. The Man was wearing a MAGAt hat. I had a visceral reaction and would/could not take that elevator with them.
I suspect he won't be feeling very comfortable strolling around any area of DC outside of the tourist areas.
That is all I have to say about that.
Buckle up! Rudy is making the morning show rounds today and he sounds extra crispy today!

I ordered some new furniture from Ikea. Lat time I did this they shipped using a private delivery service. This time, they shipped everything via Fedex, and their website's being unnecessarily stupid so I'm having a real PITA trying to have everything delivered at the same time.

The website.. There's not a brick & mortar store here in RI (the two nearest are somewhere in SE Mass. and New Haven, CT)

It amazes me that IKEA, for all its size and what not has a real issue with delivering things coherently. I mean it doesn't help if you get box 2 or whatever one day and then the next day you get the other box 1.

Hi all.
Back in civilization - last day off before heading back to the Big City tomorrow. Of course, I get to deal with this.
It has truly been a pleasure being out in the woods and off the grid for 7 of the last 9 days. I'm sure I missed an awful lot of important things from Washington.

I hope that everyone is well. I had a busy weekend with friends, including my friend Elyse the food/beverage/travel writer. I did get to talk to her about possibly moving to Los Angeles if I get a job offer and some advice.
