I'm at a lose today for content. Sure there are thousands of cute animal picture on the internet. And there's always something whimsical, unique, and odd to be discovered. But today, with all that's going on in the world, it feels too frivolous to do any of that.
So today can we all just send up prayers, good thought, positive vibes, whatever your jam is, to the people of the Ukraine.

I hope that Ukraine will get enough support to remain as an independent, democratic nation. For now, I am afraid for that country.
Let us stand with Ukraine against aggression and imperialism. (Putin's claim that he is removing a Nazi regime when Ukraine's president is Jewish is particularly offensive.)

Just finished shoveling outside.. ugh it was almost all ice. two friggin inches of sleet! At least I got most of it cleared so it won't be as bad doing the next layer.
I get to sit down with a fresh cuppa coffee to do some work and check up on the news, and there's a new Putin broadcast in response to him bombing civilian partment buildings, and he's basically accusing Ukraine's army of using civilians as human shields and urging the country's civilians to "rise up and don't let Ukraine use your families" for that purpose. The man has NO FUCKING SHAME. It's disgusting and I'm fucking pissed right now damnit ima smoke a bowl when I catch my breath.

A lady I work with is from Ukraine. She still has family there (in the West, nearer the Polish border.) It is a very troubling time.
But as several memes have pointed out - I lived through the 80s. Remember KAL 007? I think we were ready to come to blows with the Soviet Union over that.
How is it remotely possible that the GOP Elephants that marched in lockstep with President Reagan to oppose the "Evil Empire" are now lining up to lick Putin's ass?

Oh yes, and how's a little price-gouging?
On the day before Russia attacked, I topped off the ol' tank. At the Shell down the street, it was $3.59 a gallon. I drove a bit, and topped off again not quite 48 hours later. That same gas was $4.05.
Did the price magically go up in the storage tank overnight?

Heh I think that was the RAF plane I was looking at! It made a pretty wild turn just before the border of Poland & Belarus to head south & avoid the closed airspace.

In South Boston, what I just did would spark a multi-generation vendetta.
