This week, Ladies and Gentlemen, the hypocritical outrage of the week will be whether or not Wanda Sykes went over the line during Friday evening's WHCD. Here is the exchange in context: Too much? This is a comedienne we are talking about here. Not a political Pundit, not the voice OR the leader of the GOP, Rush Limbaugh. This was Wanda Sykes.
Let's review a few things a certain leader of the GOP has said over the years, shall we?
I don't really need to mention the Half-rican Comments, nor the Socialistfascistcommunist talk regarding our President. I don't think this needs to be re-hashed here. What is important tho is that the so called MSM have decided that Wanda Sykes was over the line, without really taking a look at the history of what Rush has said. The hypocrisy is stunning, and yet, not surprising.
While so many people talk about the faltering GOP, and what can be done to save it, the party continues to embrace the ideology of this race bating, mysiogynistic drug addicted mouthpeice as tho he really offers something beneficial to America. Well, he actually does -- but not to all of America -- he gives racists and old white men hope that one day they will rise again. Don't believe me?
Yesterday Dick Cheney was on the TV Machine again. HE told Bob Scheiffer on Face the Nation:
They are what they are. Nice. When further questioned on the direction of the Republican Party he said,
And no one seems to think that this is over the top. Maybe it isn't hypocrisy, maybe they really DO want to be the party of extremists. Maybe just maybe they ARE telling the truth. But Wanda Sykes, she was the one, SHE went over the line? Cry me a river, GOP. When you start keeping your own house clean then you can talk about mine. In the mean time, go tend to your own terrorists' Kidney- and no -- I am not talking Osama Bin Laden. I am talking about the man who laments to repeal of Slavery. The man who unabashedly hates liberalsim, so much so, he said "I tell people don't kill all the liberals, leave enough around so we can have two on every campus; living fossils, so we will never forget what these people stood for."- Rush Limbaugh
I guess the media doesn't think advocating death is over the line. If the media wants to start talking about line crossing, then maybe they should have a real discussion, instead of fake poutrage of one female comedienne. (who, btw -- just happens to be a woman of color -- just saying...)

OMG. My Nephew ( he's 12 ) was telling me about a fifth grader who is active in a "Save the Beavers" campaign for one of our CT rivers, and because of Momma and the Mooks, I had this dumb grin on my face and wondered the whole time if my nephew was being serious, or if he got the joke!

Back from the doctor. I did lose another 3 pounds. At least one bit of good news and I will be trying a new anti-depressant to see if that at least can get me functioning through the day.

It should have been since they were distributing the show. Her departure from the show coincided with Manzo filing the lawsuit and NovaM imploded shortly thereafter.
There was a weird situation with Nova M and they probably didn't have the money that they thought they have. On Second Thought as the successor to Nova M didn't last too long unless they are still sending out Nancy Skinner's show which probably won't last much longer now that Randi's back and Mike Malloy turned to self-syndication.
BTW, WWKB is actually 1520 AM. It's on a clear channel frequency which I can pick up at night. Interestingly she now airs on delay in her old home city since it looks like WJNO chose to keep Hannity in her old slot.
New York still needs another progressive talk station so we can get Steph, Thom, Randi, and Mike Malloy back on lcoal radio. Granted, Steph only aired for one day in New York since our lame-ass quasi-AAR station doesn't take any of these shows.
Is there a movement to restore progressive talk to DC like there was for Boston?

What the hell?
I'd been tipped off that KNUV 1190 AM, formerly the flagship station of the liberal Nova M radio network, and briefly, the home of Nova M's successor network, On Second Thought, had been padlocked. So I had to see for myself, as On Second Thought's driving force, Mike Newcomb, was apparently doing his afternoon show today as usual. At least, that's the way it sounded to someone who's not a regular listener of Newcomb's show.
But as you can see from the photo above, 1190 AM's offices are indeed chained up. The security guard for the building told me that the padlocking occurred today. When I asked why, he shrugged and said, "Something to do with the rent."
Newcomb's unwisely named On Second Thought was formed February 18, after the news that Nova M's parental units, Anita and Sheldon Drobny, were abandoning the AM version of the SS Edmund Fitzgerald. This, following the departure of Nova M's one certifiable star Randi Rhodes, and Sheldon Drobny's reported mental collapse and apparent hospitalization.

One other note; Interesting that her former flagship station is now running her on delay which means you have to suffer not only with Rush but with Hannity until she comes on.

America Left-167 still runs Thom Hartmann from 3-6 since they air Ed Schultz live from Noon-3 and it would be easier for me if it was the other way around because there would be no conflict for me in the car.
