This years presidential election got thrown into a bizarre twist on Sunday, when President Biden decided to rescind his reelection campaign, and toss it off to Veep Kamala Harris. All the sturm and drang leading up to it was aggravating and frustrating, because he's been absolutely killing it in the White House, and I was ready for more.

I was also concerned about what that would mean in terms of down-ticket support, etc. Eight years ago, one of the most qualified persons ever to run for president won the popular vote, but lost because of the antiquated electoral college. I was concerned that Harris would suffer the same fate.

There's been so much going on politically lately that it's hard to pin down one thing. We went from "Biden is decrepit" to "tRump got shot" to the surrealism of the RNC. It's media saturation overload.

During this time, the U.S. has endured one of the hottest summers ever. Here in the DC area, we've had mid 90s consistently for the past several weeks (with overnight lows never dipping below mid 70s). Coincidentally, our A/C has been out this whole time, and we had to buy a couple window units so we could at least sleep and have a reasonably comfortable place in the house to sit and relax.

No both sides don't do it. I watched CBS News this morning interviewing people ('regular people') about the shooting this weekend. Every single one of them, you could tell who was who based upon the clothing they wore, said that the political rhetoric must be toned down from both sides. BULLSHIT.
