Good morning.
The patient has been deceased for two weeks now.
I have been laying low and pondering all my options. Fortunately, I'm now playing with the cool kids over on Bluesky, and I hope you are, too. This blog now has a feed - anyone and everyone with anything interesting to say, just use the hashtag #FourFreedomsBlog and the feed will automatically scoop it up and add it to the list.
In any case - there's a lot to unpack this week. Merely glancing at my preferred source at
https://www.military.com/daily-news reveals a horror show yet to come. There's almost too much, so just an aggregate of the headlines should be enough to terrify us all.
How about this for starters?
Trump Backs 'Emergency' Plan to Use Military for Mass DeportationsOf course, this was his primary platform plank. Somehow, he got waves of immigrants to vote for him, so I hope they are not too surprised when their families tend to 'disappear'. And the wealthy will suddenly find a shortage of landscapers, at least around here. Most of those guys are Guatemalan.
But moving on, how's this?
Police Records Show Defense Secretary Nominee Was Involved in Alleged Sexual Assault in 2017The military has pretty high standards for personal behaviour. It's too bad there is no corresponding code of conduct for the civilians that will run them under this Felonious Presidency.
Oh, and this one.
Gabbard's Sympathetic Views Toward Russia Cause Alarm as Trump's Pick to Lead Intelligence ServicesDo you really need me to recite the specific part of the Constitution? Well, I will anyway.
Article III, Section 3, Clause 1: Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. But wait, there's more!
Zelenskyy Pressured to Find Ways to Negotiate with PutinSince the First Felon is already in bed with Vladimir Putin, it will be an interesting dynamic in the first 24 hours of the upcoming Felonious Presidency. I'm sure Putin is ennobled to up his game. After all, he has a friend in Washington soon.
But is there anything I can say today about our actual veterans? Consider this.
Who Is Doug Collins? A Look at Trump's Pick to Head the VAYou know what? He actually might be OK. He is a veteran, although a Chaplain that didn't see any combat. (Not a contra-indication, Desmond Doss, anyone?) And while he was a Congressman, he had a solid record of supporting Veteran's causes.
Well, even a broken clock is right twice a day.
But the First Felon probably smashed that clock, too.
