It looks like Republicans will counter the Democratic push for change from the years of the Bush administration with their own pledge to deliver, drum roll please, "the change you deserve." The first element of the party agenda developed over the past few months by the leadership and select party members will focus on family issues.
"Through our "Change You Deserve" message and through our "American Families Agenda," House Republicans will continue our efforts to speak directly to an American public looking for leaders who will offer real solutions for the challenges they confront every day," said the memo prepared for lawmakers.
What the GOP doesn't seem to realize, because they are idiots, is that "the change you deserve" is the registered advertising slogan of Effexor XR, a drug that many of you might have started taking as a result of all the...you know -- terrorism. (Hat tip to Bluestem for catching this gem.)
Effexor, also known as Venlafaxine, is approved for the treatment "of depression, generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, and panic disorder in adults." Its common side effects are very much in keeping with the world the House Republicans have striven to build: nausea, apathy, constipation, fatigue, vertigo, sexual dysfunction, sweating, memory loss, and - and I swear I am not making this up - "electric shock-like sensations also called 'brain zaps.'"
Its less common side effects are equally awesome in their appropriateness.
When displayed either horizontally or vertically against a wall, the union should be uppermost and to the flag's own right, that is, to the observer's left. When displayed in a window, the flag should be displayed in the same way, with the union or blue field to the left of the observer in the street.

He encourages people to use the image for t-shirts, copy the poster online, etc. Hillary's does indeed have a hint of "Red" to it. Mao being the one that comes to mind. Course, there has been much whitewashing of Mao these days.

What was likely less of a treat was Pastor Paul Fryman’s sermon she heard Sunday morning at Bowling Green’s State Street United Methodist Church on marriage and adultery entitled “When the Devil Whispers Over Your Shoulder.”
Pastor Fryman launched into his sermon with Matthew 5, verse 27, “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that every one who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”
The verse goes on to say anyone guilty is better off plucking out their eye or cutting off their hand lest they end up in hell.
Clinton did not speak at the service, nor was she recognized at any point from those on the alter, instead sitting quietly in the second pew praying and singing along with the rest of the congregation.
She smiled broadly as a baby was baptized and carried down the aisle by the pastor.

Presidential lifespans....
Emerged from the womb under LBJ, vaguely remember the Carter presidency, became politically aware under Reagan, became a die-hard in 1988 when our hometown governor ran against Papa Bush...became enraged in 2000, horrified in 2001, and ran out of tears after Katrina spun in in '05.

:metal:
At a fundraiser last night in Portland that raked in an estimated $350,000 to his campaign coffers, Barack Obama predicted a victory in Oregon, and said he believed the resulting delegate haul would “put us over the top.”
“We will be able to say we have won a majority,” he said. “But we have a lot of work to do ahead of us.”
For Dems to win in November, he said, it will require a unified Party, adding: “That means all of you have to be nice to Clinton supporters.”
After Tuesday there are three more contests.

Oh, thank God. I just figured you were smoking too much weed.
LIBERALS usually embrace freedom of choice in personal
matters, but tend to support significant government control of the
economy. They generally support a government-funded "safety net"
to help the disadvantaged, and advocate strict regulation
of business. Liberals tend to favor environmental regulations,
defend civil liberties and free expression, support government action
to promote equality, and tolerate diverse lifestyles.
Your PERSONAL issues Score is 100%.
Your ECONOMIC issues Score is 10%.
Quote by TriSec:
Heya Random. I've been an actual card-carrying member of the Libertarian Party since 2003.
I recently re-enlisted for another year....but I also recently changed my voter registration here in this Commonwealth. I've been unenrolled since I can't remember when, but I changed back to "Democrat" about two weeks ago especially for this election season. It's just too important not to.
Velveeta may simplify it, but it is indeed Live and let live, or as I'm fond of saying "Do no harm." I will admit it's the foreign policy aspects of the party that first attracted me, falling for that avoiding foreign entanglements bit that was so near and dear to Jefferson's heart.
Then there's all that personal liberty stuff....although I'd like to think that if by your actions you endanger or harm someone else, that should be illegal under a Libertarian society.
I can't say I agree with the free-market stance and elimination of welfare and all that other crunchy liberal stuff that I kinda think we should have. But the LP as a whole agrees pretty closely with a lot of things I believe in...far more so than the two major parties.
Give this a try and see where you might stand...

Excuse me, Missy! I'd like to point out that it was the Republican dominated Florida legislature came up with the good idea to move the primary counter to the rules of both parties.
