4F... Represent!
Author: Raine    Date: 07/24/2008 15:40:52

We have a lot of members, from all over the country, and even around the world...

We have a VERY important election coming up... we are not just voting for a new president, but for a new House of Representatives, and Senate.

Random, a fellow 4F'r has offered to number crunch things for our members, so, we need to know...

Who is running in your congressional district? Who is running for your state in the Senate Race? Check in, and represent... tell us who you are supporting, so we know how they are doing.

Supply the State and District and any other information you think is important!

Remember... it's not just
:gobama:

it's also

Represent... We will be creating a new links section for all those we are supporting in our local races. The country depends upon it!

Senate: Georgia (dump Saxby!)

Congress: GA-4 (Hank Johnson, representing Cynthia McKinney's former district)

My District is NY-4 which is currently represented by Carolyn McCarthy. Although she's a Democrat, she has voted with Bush on a number of issues but I don't think a primary challenge was issued against her. I do want to follow the NY-3 race which is Bush bot GOPer Peter King's district. As the last Republican congressman left on Long Island, it would be nice to see him ousted this year. Especially since he has made so many bigoted remarks about Muslims in his support for the war on terrah.

Massachusetts 7th congressional district.

Our current representative is Ed Markey, and I believe he is running unopposed again this year.

Senator John Kerry is up for re-election this year. The Republicans have already dropped the ball and failed to qualify enough signatures to mount a credible challenge. They are trying a write-in campaign at this time.

However, Kerry does have a Democratic challenger in Ed O'Reilly.

I have cast my lot with Mr. O'Reilly in the primary; not because I support him per se, but because I have yet to forgive Senator Kerry for capitulating in 2004.

If there is a Libertarian candidate in the general election, I will be voting for them, otherwise I'll be turning in a blank.

Thanks mucho Raine & Random,

Here in Okie-ville we have the fine and brave young State Senator Andrew Rice who is running against the onerous Jim Inhofe for the only senate seat that is open in Oklahoma this year. Our representative is John Sullivan, another GOPer who I would like to see go. Our primary is next Tuesday and the two Dems vying for the position of trying to unseat Sullivan are Mark Manley, an ardent advocate of impeachment of Bush and Cheney, and an aggressive, grassroots campaigner, and Georgianna Oliver, who is a Sapulpa High School and Oklahoma State University graduate who returned to Tulsa about a year ago after building a successful business in Washington, D.C. Vamos a ver who comes out on top next Tuesday - thanks again.

Cheers,

mfaye

Minnesota Third District---a chance to add a Dem to the House. Ashwin Madia is running against some really lame republican who is trying to keep the seat held for many years by Jim Ramstad, a liberal republican, but repub nonetheless. Ashwin is an Iraq war vet, son of immigrants, and one of us.

of course, we are also trying to elect Al Franken to replace Norm Coleman.....please!

"Yes, We Can!"

"Together, We Can!"

Sound familiar?

Maybe you didn't know it, but Massachusetts elected it's first black governor last time around. Of course, the sitting governor was Mitt Romney and we could have run "Turnip, D-MA" and he would have won.

Deval Patrick is a very good friend of Senator Obama, and he's already been mentioned for several cabinet posts and even the Supreme Court in the local media. He's had some mis-steps, yes....but Gov. Patrick could be an interesting microcosm for an Obama presidency.

Check him out!

Jim Martin will be running against Saxby Chambliss for a U.S. Senate seat from GA. Chambliss has done nothing but be a Bush sycophant and enabler, so there's a chance he could be in trouble, especially what with all the anti-Bush backlash (McCain did not win GA in the primaries) and all the new voters showing up for Obama.
