Jeanne Shaheen a shoe-in to win in NH

Kay Hagan leads big right now, but still too close.

Ronnie Musgrove is keeping it tight for a Dem pickup in Lott's old seat in MS

Mark Warner gives another pickup for the Dems

Evening, all!

I'm tracking the results on CNN.com while I'm watching the dress rehearsal for my first show at the high school. THinking back to when I first went to college and spent an Election Night relaying returns to the director and people in the light booth. That was 20 years ago.

Hopefully, the Presidential results will be more to my liking this time. Also, I hope I make it out of here to watch history in the making live on the teevee mosheen.

Also, Raine, let me add a verse.

Our children flew, so our grandchildren could reach the stars.

Think about it. If Obama wins, and the human race reaches the stars, sometime in the future generations unborn may hear about our time and this election in worlds far beyond our own. Perhaps in that era, racial discrimination will have been cast on the same dung heap of history as human sacrifice.

In some good news, my interview went well. I will know if I have the job on Friday, but there are only three other candidates for the position.

Things to ponder........

What's Cheney doing right now?

Will Obama pat the asses of athletes like bush did?

Will he attempt to massage female world leaders like bush did?

Will his press secretary not give answers?

sigh................

Senate Races!

BOTH Udalls win - in Colorado and New Mexico - with Shaheen, Warner & Hagan that's 5 pickups so far.

Merkley leads Smith 48-47 in Oregon.. 40% in so far.

Alaska closes voting in a half hour... CMON BEGICH!

57% reporting in Minnesota, and Coleman has barely pulled ahead 42-41-16... FUCK!

Alright gang. I've had my victory cigar, and I was listening to the party going on a few doors down out back.

Guess I'm not the only political junkie in the neighborhood.

We wake up to a better day tomorrow.

Good Night. Sweet Dreams.

And just to make it official..."Our long national nightmare is over."

Scoop, have you check the fivethirtyeight.com site vs the map from Kos. If NC doesn't go Obama the dude was off by one state.

Comment by Scoopster on 11/05/2008 05:41:21
If Indiana or Montana goes for Obama, he's off too! And Missouri looks like it'll go for McCain now; it'd take Obama to run the board to win the state at this point.

Still.. his numbers are not that far off.

..or maybe not? McCain only leads by 35k in MO, still a chunk of St. Louis and all of Clay County (near KC) to count.

The Comedy Network in Canada is running the Sideshow Bob Roberts episode of The Simpsons right now. That's one of my favorites.

KTLA is reporting that Prop 8 is leading 54-46 with only 22% of the votes counted. But apparently, the votes haven't come in from LA or San Fransisco yet. Please don't let the haters win this one.

Morning Grumpy!

Quick update for everyone else when you get here...

Looks like Georgia's final tallies are still up in the air - lots of early votes not included in the total yet, plus absentee, military and provisional ballots to come. Obama and Jim Martin may yet take the state! We'll see..

In Minnesota, Norm Coleman leads by ONLY 1500 votes (less than .5%) over Al Franken. The third party candidate turnout was strong at 16%. I'm trying to find out if the totals there include absentee/provisional/military ballots. On the House side, that scumbag Michelle Bachman eeked out a win.

Oregon's Senate seat is also still pending, with reporting delays in Portland and Eugene.

Alaska's Senate and House races are close too.. Stevens leads by about 4k votes with 99% reporting but like the other races there's still the side stacks to come.
