In a statement released late last night, radio commentator Rush Limbaugh announced that he will be turning off his golden microphone and the EIB network at the end of April. The statement declares:
"It has become clear to me that I have become too closely associated with the Republican party. Although I may personally support the party, as a radio professional, I am bound to a position of neutrality. Due to recent events, however, that neutrality has come into question. This in turn puts a stigma - however unfairly - upon the party..."
The "recent events" alluded to are the criticisms of Limbaugh (followed by nearly immediate apologies) from several key Republicans, most notably RNC Chairman Michael Steele...

The Republican plan would freeze most non-defense spending for five years, overhaul Medicare for people 54 and younger by turning the benefit into a premium support payment, establish a means test for future Social Security benefits (potentially reducing payments to wealthier Americans) and simplify the tax code by establishing a new system with two rates of 10% and 25%.
House Republican leaders unveiled their alternative to the proposed Democratic budget Wednesday, calling for $4.8 trillion less in overall spending over the next decade in part through a five-year freeze in most non-defense discretionary spending.
"The president's budget exploits the current economic crisis to justify trillions in new spending, taxes, and debt," Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan, the ranking Republican on the House Budget Committee, said in a statement.
"Our budget alternative provides a path out of our current crisis - by restoring economic growth and job creation, controlling spending and deficits - and by lifting the crushing burden of debt and taxes from future generations."
The House GOP budget permanently extends all of former President Bush's 2001 and 2003 tax cuts. Among other things, it also suspends capital gains taxes through 2010.
It also calls for establishment of a new tax system based on two rates. A ten percent income tax rate would apply to couples making $100,000 or less, as well as singles earning under $50,000. The income tax rate would rise to 25 percent for those earning more.
The House GOP budget also calls for a repeal of the estate tax, as well dropping the corporate tax rate from 35 to 25 percent. Capital gains and dividends would be taxed at 15 percent.
Defense spending would be increased by $5 billion compared to President Obama's budget. The GOP proposal also calls for an additional $540 million in spending when compared to Obama's proposed budget.

What was the deal with that? It looked like the April Fool's joke was to run some movie that would fit more on WE or Oxygen.

House Republican leaders unveiled their alternative to the proposed Democratic budget Wednesday, calling for $4.8 trillion less in overall spending over the next decade — in part through a five-year freeze in most non-defense discretionary spending.
The GOP budget would repeal the entire $787 billion economic stimulus package except for an extension of unemployment insurance benefits. It also would roll back a recently passed 8 percent spending boost in the budget for the remainder of the current fiscal year.
Overall, it calls for $3.6 trillion less in borrowing over the next 10 years.
“The president’s budget exploits the current economic crisis to justify trillions in new spending, taxes, and debt,” Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan, the ranking Republican on the House Budget Committee, said in a written statement.
Democrats were quick to criticize the GOP proposal as little more than a way to help the wealthiest Americans at the expense of the rest of the country.

Mfaye, wasn't Coburn the one who railed against NBC running Schindler's List because of the nudity? Because nothing's a bigger turn-on then concentration camp nudity.

Oh, and did I mention that I'm still paying full price?
I'm eligible to pay only 35% under ARRA, but ADP hasn't figured out how to do that yet. The Federal deadline is April 18 to have everything in place.
F*ckers.

So it looks like the job in Hartford, CT that I was perfect for might fall through because I don't have a bachelor's degree. Yes, that's right - despite a great work history of over 25 years, the fact that I got a 2-year degree instead of a 4-year means I'm not qualified.
Yet some young pup with a 4-year degree and 5 years work experience is?

Helluva day. Woke up this morning to rising sewage in my basement; I spent hours arguing with ADP and BCBSMA, and somewhere in there I had an excellent interview, this could be the one.
Plus, I never realized it was April 1 until hours later, not working I'm a little divorced from the calendar right now.
But that does mean "International Hate Week" starts this Sunday...I can't wait!![]()
For you luv....I'll even drink a Rainetini tonight. Make it a double.
