OMG ya'll! I have discovered CRAFTIVISM! Is this new? Am I behind on a movement? Art, literature, and music have been inspired by revolution and protest for centuries.
I mean Liberty Leading the People is iconic.
But crafting?! Cross stitch, knitting, decoupage, etc...
But, I can totally see it now. There has always been a separation in art and crafting to me. One being more high brow and the other more common. However, its all an act of creation and community.
My mind is blown that crocheting an afghan can be subversive. And now I must go and relearn how to cross stitch.
