For a Healthier Country

As most of the daily readers of this tiny corner of the blogosphere already know, I was in the hospital for 5 days last week. It was not at all pleasant. The first 12 hrs or so were spent on a gurney in a room in the ER. After that, I was transferred to the "general" hospital (no Luke or Laura - sorry). I had a private room, which seemed strange, but was very welcome. Everything was top-notch... and I was miserable.

New York State of Mind

Good Monday Morning. My sister and her family came for a visit this weekend. Friday night we unwound with a few beverages outside with music playing and cocktails. Saturday, I finally was able to take them to Annapolis and tour the Naval academy including its Museum, Chapel, and the crypt of John Paul Jones.

Good morning.

We're off to the wilds of Providence in a bit - it's parent's weekend at ol' JWU. We'll wander around campus today, look at the training kitchens, sample some student projects, and spend a bunch of money on swag at the bookstore.

Frustration Friday

Is it just me or has anyone else felt the pile on of frustration from internal and external forces for these last few months (possibly longer)?

It was just 7 years out from the end of the Reagan administration. The full effects of his economic plan, known as 'Reaganomics' and being rejected by his successor as 'VooDoo Economics', were implemented but they had not yet born the full gut punch to the middle and lower class. People still had a chance to wake up and be informed of how disastrous that economic plan would ultimately be over time. All that changed on October 7, 1996.
