I don't think anyone had "Minneapolis" on their "ground zero" bingo card in the fight against the flames of fascism being fanned by the fat fucker. There have been two high-profile murders of innocent protesters, and who knows how many have been maimed and/or killed that
haven't made the front page. The brownshirt tactics by ICE "agents" (erstwhile Proud Boys and Gravy Seals) have been treating this like a video game and feel empowered (and under-trained) to do whatever they please.
The difference between now and 1930s Germany is that we've seen this playbook before. While Republican fealty has given this maladministration carte blanche for most of the past year, it's now an election year for every member of the House and 1/3 of the Senate. It's pretty clear that only in the deepest of red areas in the country is this sort of fascism supported. These people want to get re-elected, and a lot of them know they are in purple districts.
