Loons and Exploitation
Author: TriSec    Date: 03/05/2011 14:19:10

Good Morning.

I got bupkis today.

During the week, I keep a scratchpad on my thumb drive, where I jot down interesting news stories or other ideas to expand into a Saturday blog.

This week was not one of those weeks.

I don't know if it's me, or the news cycle, or just the end of a long, hard, winter...but everything has taken on a certain sameness these last few weeks. There's still news, but hasn't it been the same every day?

Libya? Sure, it's exciting and scary all at the same time, but I think there's been enough stories about Khadafi being a loon and bombing his own people.

Wisconsin remains in the headlines, but again not much has changed there in weeks, and despite legislative trickery, nothing truly new has come out in days. But still, Governor Walker remains a loon and is looking for ways to reduce the rights of his public workers.

Presidential politics was mildly interesting this week...did you hear the good Dr. Maddow's take on Newt Gingrich being on the take the other day? Wasn't it cute how he formed an 'exploratory website' to skirt campaign finance laws? It sure is nice to have your own cottage industry being a loon and exploiting the so-called party faithful.

Congress hasn't been much better...we're still waiting for that big jobs package the Boner promised us, but he seems far more interested in pandering to the loons and hunting down uteruses and gays. How is that helping?

And you can add the Supreme Court to that list. While at a 10,000 foot level, I can intellectually state that they made the right decision in protecting free speech, but deciding in favor of a bunch of loons that exploits death and despair for their own twisted purposes doesn't make me very happy.

I don't know. It's March; Spring is in the air...maybe we'll get something new to write about one day this month, too.

I completely understand TriSec. My Wednesday blog was an idea that was bouncing around in my head for a few weeks. It was good I had that in reserve. Friday's blog was a hunt for something interesting that resulted in a news fritatta.

I hope something different happens between now and next Wed... Like you, I don't have anything fresh to add to the Libya/Wisconsin storyline.

And I have another marathon weekend at work. The next two weekends will be nuts as the conference college tournaments add to the already crowded weekend sports schedules.

Ditto here.

As witnessed this week.

WE always go thru *lulls* --- things will get better. I actually thought your blog was great today, loons... all of them loons.

That damn Boehner is willing to WASTE taxpayer money to defend DOMA.

Is it March Madness already?

Kind of the preliminaries. Some of these conference tournaments do determine who goes to the big dance especially for smaller conferences like the MAAC which usually only get one team advancing to it. Some of the higher-profile conferences ( ie SEC, Big East, PAC 10) usually get more than one team advancing.
