Before all the votes had been counted Tuesday night, the Democratic Party of Wisconsin accused Waukesha County clerk Kathy Nickolaus of tampering in the 8th State Senate District race between by "sitting on ballots."
"The race to determine control of the Wisconsin Senate has fallen in the hands of the Waukesha County clerk, who has already distinguished herself as incompetent, if not worse," Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate said in a statement.
"She is once more tampering with the results of a consequential election and in the next hours we will determine our next course of action. For now, Wisconsin should know that a dark cloud hangs over these important results."
[..]
About an hour later after issuing their first statement, the Democratic Party of Wisconsin retracted their accusation against Nickolaus.
"Though we believe that Sandy Pasch was able to battle Alberta Darling to a virtual tie, on her turf, we will not pursue questions of irregularities," Tate said in a statement. "Those heat-of-the-moment statements came in light of the uncertainties that arose from a recent election, known too well."
Federal judges in Milwaukee refused to take over the redistricting process in July, but a federal lawsuit alleging the new district boundaries are unconstitutional is still pending.
"The maps passed by the Legislature meet the objective criteria laid out by the courts including communities of interest, fair minority representation, and compact, contiguous districts," Walker spokesman Cullen Werwie said in a brief statement.
Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate accused Walker of trying to distract attention away from the state Senate recall elections by waiting until Tuesday to sign the redistricting legislation.
"We know that Scott Walker wants to change the conversation - but seeking out news coverage in the last hours of the historic movement to turn back his agenda, and doing so to discuss his radical redistricting plan, is as galling as it is tacky," Tate said.

And don't forget.. this is just the opening volley.
In January, we go after Walker, the other state executive officers, and the other State Senators who would be eligible for a recall vote at that time, including Fitzgerald.

Anonymous does not support killing Facebook on November 5
...snip...
dates are also questionable: why didn’t this news spread like wildfire three weeks ago? Whenever Anonymous or LulzSec declare a new target, the world definitely notices. Furthermore, while Guy Fawkes Day is a perfectly understandable choice, it’s very far away. There are 112 days between July 16, 2011 and November 5, 2011: Anonymous rarely gives more than a few days notice, if at all.
If Facebook is indeed attacked on November 5, 2011, it does not appear that Anonymous as a whole will be supporting the hacks.

Back on the anti-depressants which allowed me to sleep better this morning and I do have to get up early tomorrow to get my car serviced since it wigged out again in the rain yesterday. It does seem to be an issue with the battery and running a lot of equipment (radio, AC, wipers and lights) in stop and go traffic.

two things:
1) Does it seem to happen more in the rain? There may an insulation problem, and the water is shorting things out.
2) How old is the battery? It might be on its way out.. or - it may be low on water. If you can, pop the top(s) off the cells and see if any look low. Sometimes the summer heat causes the water/acid to evaporate. You can add a little distilled water to the cells and see if that helps.

Democracy Died First in Wisconsin – Long Live the Oligarchs
This is the kind of stuff that really doesn't help. It certainly doesn't encourage people to show up, vote protest and activate -- LIKE WE SAW IN WISCONSIN.
This is a totally *give up* post. This we do not need.
The Wisconsin recall election was the first major test of the new era in American politics. That new era began in January of 2010 when the US Supreme Court ruled in “Citizens United v. FEC†that the political voice of We The People was no longer as important as the voices of billionaires and transnational corporations.
Now we know the result, and it bodes ill for both 2012 and for the tattered future of small-d democracy in our republic. A few of America’s most notorious oligarchs – including the Koch and the DeVos (Amway fortune) billionaires – as well as untraceable millions from donors who could as easily be Chinese government-run corporations as giant “American†companies who do most of their business and keep most of their profits outside the US – apparently played big in this election.
I say “apparently†because the Supreme Court has ruled that we no longer have the right to know who is really funding our election commercials, or even our candidates themselves. Thanks to an irrational and likely illegal Supreme Court ruling, we have moved into an era of oligarch-run politics. As much as $40 million of our oligarch’s money was spent in Wisconsin in a handful of local races – a testing laboratory for strategies that will now be used against Democrats nationwide in 2012.
And so now we enter the battle of the oligarchs over the next fifteen or so months. As the old saying goes, when the elephants fight, the mice get trampled. In this case, the mice aren’t just the voters. It’s democracy itself. America is now – demonstrably, as proven by Wisconsin – just a few years away from the possibility of a totally corrupted, totally billionaire- and corporate-controlled political system. Political scientists call it oligarchy.
The Citizens United election experiment is over, and the oligarchs won. Long live the oligarchy.
So Republicans lose 2 seats that they won in the last election and this this is supposed to be a defeat for Liberal democracy? Every form of government in history has done nothing but concentrate wealth. Fighting this will never be easy. We will never be as organized or as well funded as them.
And for the Ayn Randers...There is another name for their form of "Liberty".... Its called Fasicsm. Let me know when your Objectivst ethics compel you to return stolen land from the Native Americans or compensate the decedents of enslaved Africans for building this country.
40 Million spent and they lost 2 of 6 in a local election.
We have the power!!!! let's target their companies. Getting 10 to 12 percent of liberals and progressives to cooperate should be easy.....and will be noticed.
I forgot where I've heard this before, but... despair is not an option.
We shouldn't be apathetic. I hate to use an old crusty cliche' but it's always darkest before the dawn!
House Speaker John Boehner chose House Republican Conference Chairman Jeb Hensarling of Texas, House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp of Michigan and House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Fred Upton of Michigan.
Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell chose Sens. Jon Kyl of Arizona, Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania and Rob Portman of Ohio to represent the Senate GOP.
The announcements come one day after Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid appointed his three picks -- Sens. Patty Murray of Washington, Max Baucus of Montana and John Kerry of Massachusetts. House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi has until Aug. 16 to choose her three selections of House Democrats to fill out the committee.

Lesse.. Hensarling's called SS/Medicare/Medicaid "ponzi schemes", Camp has called them "promises that won't be kept", and Upton is the guy who wrote the light bulb efficiency bill and BRAGGED ABOUT THE ENERGY SAVINGS, then proposed to have it repealed after Limbaugh & Beck called him out on it.

On number 2, most batteries are the "no service" kind these days. There might not be any tops to pop off.

Today there was an article by Frank Schaeffer about where Bachmann-Turner overdrive gets her goofy ass ideas, but it basically a rehash of an article Schaeffer wrote about Dominionist about a year ago. It's almost like they aren't trying anymore.
Then of course there is the constant pessimistic hand-wringing.

I may have to write about this next week. It's one thing to be critical, it ENTIRELY another things to just continually put out outrage just to keep people upset.
The latter does no good. It's not much different than fox.
