Morning.

Say gang, skip Momma and get the BBC stream up this morning....live coverage from the ground in Tripoli, Sirte, and elsewhere.

Happy folks sound the same worldwide, even if they are chanting "Allahu Ackbar" and other Arabic things.

BBC still has the caveat that none of the stories about Khadafi's status have been confirmed or denied at this point. There is a press conference that's supposed to happen with the NTC, but no word yet on when.

I have already seen the photo allegedly to be that of Qaddafy. It's gruesome, and it does look like him --

If the person in that photo is alive, I don't think it will be for very long.

Morning

One thing I no longer want to hear from anyone is that Obama is not tough enough on Terrorists.

A notional security reporter on tyhe radio said this morning that the NTC wanted to capture Qaddafy alive and put him on trial.

I don't think that is going to happen, I have a feeling he is muerto.

"He (Gaddafi) was also hit in his head," National Transitional Council official Abdel Majid Mlegta told Reuters. "There was a lot of firing against his group and he died."

Mlegta told Reuters earlier that Gaddafi, who was in his late 60s, was captured and wounded in both legs at dawn on Thursday as he tried to flee in a convoy which NATO warplanes attacked. He said he had been taken away by an ambulance.

WaPo is hedging their bets, saying Qaddafy may or may not be dead.

Listening to TRMS right now about the Ohio incident.

There used to be a law in Ohio banning the private holding of so-called exotic animals. The new Republican governor overturned it, on the grounds of "over-regulation".

Like Rachel said....it's hard to understand how small business in Ohio benefited by 48 dead animals, including 18 rare Bengal tigers.

of which there are reports that there may be 4-500 left in the wild.

NO ONE should be able to own an endangered species in such a matter.

Okay - so I have a question - when the weather turns bad, what are the OWS locations going to do? Its not going to be healthy for them to stay outside.

It's been something I am wondering as well. I think they are planning for the winter.

It's going to rough--I know Freedom Plaza is ALL Concrete -- it has to be wicked cold right now.

My bad -- I confused Bengal with Sumatran Tigers
About 400-500 wild Sumatran tigers were believed to exist in 1998, but their numbers have continued to decline. According to the RSPB in March 2008 there were approximately 300 Sumatran Tigers remaining in the wild.

Welp over here they have giant blue tarps over EVERYTHING.. it's a pretty large mudpit tho where the common areas are.

I've done a long-term winter camp before. (It was only 4 days.) You've got to have the gear. It might be cold to sleep on concrete now, but there is the urban heat island effect, you normally do see it during the winter with the city a few degrees warmer than the suburbs, but that matters little when it's below freezing.

I think maybe if they do it in shifts; have folks rotate through for a few days at a time and maintain a small, but constant presence...they might make it.

Good morning all. I conked out a lot last night so hopefully I caught up on some sleep. I heard the stories about the whole animal let loose and owner suicide in Ohio and the Governor's handling of it and denying how this is another deregulation disaster. I think they only get away with this because the people who remember the depression are dying off and they do remember those days from the past.

On another note, my sister-in-law's father passed away and the funeral is tomorrow so I will be out the better part of the morning and afternoon.

Starting Monday @TheLastWord moves back to 10pm ET, Mondays through Thursdays.
What the story with this? IS Ed cancelled or is he moving to 8 pm?

He is moving to 8 PM on Monday so they are flipping the shows. May be in response to Lawrence having lower ratings than Keith did at 8 PM and having to compete with Bill-O and now Anderson Cooper in that time slot.

A business owner is going to torpedo his own business by not hiring or profiting because he's going to stop hiring folks in order to make a political point because he thinks the President is trying to take business away from him?

Hang on, the RPMs on my head are off the scale here.

They want the economy to tank so that a Republican will get elected whose policies will tank the economy since they will copy what Chimpy and Coolidge-Hoover did before them. That's all clear as mud.

That's one of those things I found out about while helping mom apply for the medicare -

1. you have to apply at least 1 month before you turn 65 or you will be penalized
2. you can apply online
3. if you are working and have insurace through an employer then you only have to get Part A (the hospital stuff) - part B is to cover going to the doctor
4. It takes longer then 30 days to get that freaking card and you have to call a bunch of times to tell them the card never showed up
