Hard Deck!
Author: Raine    Date: 12/22/2011 13:48:16

I've hit the hard deck here.

In the meantime, please enjoy this:
Kotuby drove back to Del Ray only to find Obama was picking up three large pizzas from a restaurant near her home. She couldn’t get to her house because the street was blocked. She asked the Secret Service if they would let her pass.

“They let me in and I got my camera and walked down to the pizzeria,” she said.

Kotuby then waited for the president with a crowd of people at the corner of Mt. Vernon and East Del Ray avenues.

“He recognized us and asked ‘Are you following me?’” Kotuby said.

She asked the president if he minded posing for a photo with her kids. Obama then leaned across a line of caution tape, put an arm around each of Kotuby’s kids and posed for a photo.

“He worked the whole line,” Del Ray resident Liz Chadderdon said of Obama’s stop in Del Ray. “Then he just picked up a box and left.”

Obama's order included three large pizzas—one with pepperoni and sausage, one with onions and green peppers and one supreme.

“I had no idea he was coming here,” Del Ray Pizzeria chef Eric Reid said. “I got a call from someone asking why he was being patted down to come in [the restaurant].”
Yeah... I know I said it yesterday, but I still think it is cool as all get out.

Morning, comrades!

Faaaaan - tastic.

Even nature is mourning, the state-run Korean Central News Agency reported on Thursday.

Following the storm's sudden end at dawn on Tuesday, a message carved in rock - "Mount Paektu, holy mountain of revolution. Kim Jong-il" - glowed brightly, it said. It remained there until sunset.

On the same say, a Manchurian crane also apparently adopted a posture of grief at a statue of the late leader's father in the northern city of Hamhung.

"Even the crane seemed to mourn the demise of Kim Jong-il, born of Heaven, after flying down there at dead of cold night, unable to forget him," KCNA reported officials as saying.

This is my sisters rendering of me after a night of one too many bombay saffire martini's.

As the story goes, I fell off the porch and she thought she ran over me when she went to get the car to bring me home... it is a fairly accurate drawing. The hat and the handbag never left my body.

She came to my house the next morning asking how I felt, I said fine and she asked again... are you sure?

I was puzzled -- and then she pointed to this drawing she drew from the previous evening, on the coffee table. IT was then I heard the entire sordid gin soaked tale...

Sad to say - for the usual stereotypical liberal reasons. I'm far removed from Saugus politics now, don't know the guy or anyone on the school committee.

Ya know....if I'm ever President, I think I'll blow Christmas off entirely and do a hybrid Filipino/Cuban thing and make a big deal out of Three Kings. (Xmas is a minor holiday, although significant in religion, in those traditions - the big deal is January 6 when the Magi arrive with the gifts!)

I'll also set up a slo-mo camera for all those head explosions.

That would be the whole actual 12 Days of Christmas thing. You know from Christmas Day to 12th Night. Yeah the head explosions in slo-mo would be very Mythbusterish.

I'm not sure yet. I'll ask bob when he gets back home. Hopefully BEFORE noon.

I know Liv likes to sleep in -- so I am trying to take that into account.

Ya think we can get him up a little early tomorrow? (with )
