F The President Author: TriSecDate:03/05/2008 00:40:01
Fuck the President.
There, I said it. After 8 long years, I said it.
Fuck the president, and everything he believes in and represents. Fuck his family, his wife, his children, his forebears and all his descendants for all eternity.
Fuck the republican party and everything they stand for. Fuck everyone that ever claimed to be a Republican, supported them, voted for them, or even believes one iota of the bullshit that they spout and pass off as policy.
Fuck you if you even have the slightest illusion that the Republican party, or its financiers, or its policymakers think about you and your concerns for so much as one second. You're such a fucking idiot, I can't help you anymore.
Why this rant, why now, why today?
Because this evening, I was talking to my wife about uprooting us from this fair Commonwealth and the only life we've ever known for the perceived greener pastures of Belfast, Maine and the opportunity that my company opening a branch office there represents.
When I was seven years old, my parents owned our home, I had a yard to play in, a dog, a swingset, and a safe neighborhood full of friends and trees and grassy places to play.
I can give Javier none of these things.
Whatever you call us, Generation X, children of the 80s, any label you wish...we're the first generation that is less well off than the one before it in these United States. All the things I had, did, or wanted to do...we can't do for our own children.
We live paycheck to paycheck, one unanticipated expense away from total disaster. We have no savings, little retirement money, and no college fund for our son. We can't even dream about owning a piece of the "American Dream"...that doesn't exist for us anymore. My "American Dream" consists of paying all our bills on time and finishing with a positive balance in our account for one month.
Eleven years from now, Javier will be finishing his senior year in High School, looking at his 18th birthday and perhaps a bleak future. A President McCain will have us in Iraq for the next century, and under any republican administration, nothing will change...expenses and inflation will keep choking the lifeblood out of the middle class, and Javi will be faced with either a lifelong mountain of debt or the prospect of entering the army and going to a shooting war just to have a pittance for a minimal college education.
These aren't the United States anymore. At least not the ones that we read about in the history books and our parents and grandparents helped to build so that ours and the next generation can live better, safer, and healthier.
All of this because of a failed philosophy, because of a misguided leadership, and because of one man, one party, and everything they have said, done, changed, manipulated, and supported over these past 8 years.
Damn, Tri - why don't you tell us how you REALLY feel...

Well said TriSec and I share your angst and anger.
I remember that RayGun asked, "Are you better off now than you were 4 years ago"? What an ass! I'd wager that 99.7% of Americans could now answer that with a resounding NO.
Thanks in part to ............. Mr. Reagan.

btw, I just posted at the Meetup blog, that I am seeing some very (disturbingly) high room rates at the hotel. Liv had mentioned that we might benefit from a group rate. Any chance we could count heads and try that?

Polls have been ordered to stay open until pm in Sandusky County in Ohio (my spelling may be wrong)
Ice storm. Terry McCAuliffe is trying to make a plea to get all the delegates seated in FLorida and Michigan.
With PRIMARIES. So can somone please tell me who is going to pay for this? And WHY after all the things that Hillary agreed to, why NOW they are fighting so hard?
Comment byRaine on 03/05/2008 01:30:20
Tri, I just read you blog. that was fucking intense. Seriously intense, and something that I totally agree with you about.
Totally. I had the wonderful good fortune of meeting BobR, and having a chance to start a life with him down here.. but for those that do not remember, my life was fucked, becuase of this administration and thier policies. FUCKED.
I did not move here to escape, mind you. I just realized that if I had to live this life, I at least wanted a chance to have a life with a person I loved.
I made the right choice.
Looking back, I do not know how I hung on as long as I did. I lived for a long North East winter with NO HEAT.
And sometimes, with no electric. And I was declined HEAP.
F the president. F him and every republican policy. F them all.

Vt. Towns Approve Bush 'Indictment'
By JOHN CURRAN 03.04.08, 7:48 PM ET
BRATTLEBORO, Vt. - Voters in two Vermont towns approved measures Tuesday calling for the indictment of President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney for what they consider violations of the Constitution.
More symbolic than anything, the items sought to have police arrest Bush and Cheney if they ever visit Brattleboro or nearby Marlboro or to extradite them for prosecution elsewhere - if they're not impeached first.
In Brattleboro, the vote was 2,012-1,795. In Marlboro, which held a town meeting on the issue, it was 43-25 with three abstentions.
"It really carries no weight," said Brattleboro Town Clerk Annette Cappy. "Our town attorney has no legal authority to draw up any papers to allow our police officers to do so, but the gentleman who initiated the petition, got the signatures, wanted it on the ballot to make a statement."
Damn, I wish my little town would do this as well.

This was discussed, but the group rate wasn't any better than what was available on the web site. We all decided to go ahead and book our own rooms.
But, if you read the article, you will see that the clinton campaign seems t be upset with the actions of owrkers and the Obama campaign is upset with the fact that people are being given the wrong ballots.
This is all not cool.

I disagree with EVERYTHING that he believes in, but he was honorable in keeping to his beliefs, I respect that.

Didn't hillary NEED TX and OH with 65% wins in order to really go on?
And why is she still in the race? Seriously, at this point, she has lost 12 elections. and I am not counting VI.

Yeah, I know where you're coming from. Shortly after I got laid off for the second time back in '03, we got a 50 lb bag of rice at Costco for just $10.
That lasted us a year... we existed mostly on black beans and rice and what I called the best deal on earth, we could get two whole chickens at our Costco for just $6 in those days.
It's now 5 years since my first layoff of 2003 (I was laid of twice that year), and I still haven't returned to the salary I was making. Coupled with the 8 months I was paying health insurance out-of-pocket, and that's what killed us.

speaking of Amurrica, the giant pick up I parked next to had not one, not two, but EIGHT yes, EIGHT flag magnets on the driver's side. Various things but all on the honor vets etc. The clincher on the rear window in decal in a gothic font that said "Never a Liberal."

HEll, we went to go watch last weeks *lost* and come back to see that Clinton took Ohio. Worse yet, I see that it is tied in Texas.
Now from what I understand, it is going to take a few days to count the caucus votes. I am disgusted, to tell you the truth. if it were anyone else, EVERYONE would be clammering for the person who lost 12 elections to please leave the race for the good of the party. I am not saying this as a slam on Hillary, but the reality is this, EVERY DAY this goes on is another day for a free pass on John McCain.
That being said, I am still waiting to see his FEC filings....
I am VERY tired of the nastiness, and I fear that we are going to see a LOT MORE of this. I hate it.

Hillary bought an hour of air time on FSN Southwest for a Town Hall meeting. To show that on a Regional Sports Network is very strange indeed.
Hmmm I wonder if Ralph is still wearing those Army dress shoes that he bought when he was in the service in the early 60s. He got like 12 pairs of them for 12 bucks.
