I've been reading reviews of "The Avengers." I have to say the take away I've gotten so far is that "serious critics" are tired of superhero movies. They like parts of the flick, but over all not so much.

I don't know what the costs were, but if it was some sort of package with decent time between each picture to get up and move around and buy more over priced consession stuff, yeah.

this is why you need a friend with a large purse - its only when I forget to stop and pick up a soda and a snack at the Giant do I have to stop and get something - its amazing this amount of stuff you can seek in if you pack well

Today in History:

1776 : Rhode Island becomes the first colony to declare independence from the British Crown. Two months later all the colonies would declare the same with a single voice.
1886 : The Haymarket Square Strike is put down violently by Chicago police after a homemade bomb is thrown at them by an activist. Over 80 are killed in the fighting.
1970 : Anti-war student activists at Kent State University in Ohio are fired upon by the National Guard. Four students are killed.
1989 : Oliver North is convicted on three of twelve counts in the Iran Contra scandal. His conviction was later overturned on appeal.

The service call happened at 12:10

the window was to be between 10-12... and then --- THEN we find out that Comcast turned our internet OFF at the pole outside and didn;t bother to send a letter to the account or tell the service tech why we wern;t getting service...

So FINALLY @ 4:30 it got fixed. I am pissed. One hand doesn;t know who is watching the other it seems.

If we could get Fios here..... The bright side is that the Tech who came this morning afternoon was amazing. he helped us with a problem we didn't know existed and it was something that Nomcast could have fixed all along. HE was great. HE came oput to fix a problem that ultimately wasn't his to fix, so he couldn;t. But he found out WHY they turned off our internet. (still not cool) So he called his supe and made arrangements.

My biggest issue id the lack of communication between customer service and tech requests. They should have NEVER turned off our internet without telling us or creating a circumstance to fix a problem with THIER lines.

When I called the CS rep this afternoon, she told me that TEch has their own schedule, and I asked her: 'Why don't you have a clue about this at all? MAYBE tech should be filling you in with this?" IS it my job to tell you that a tech supervisor said someone would be here in a couple of hours and now that time has passed?

She changed her tune quite quickly.

I think more credit than the 27.5 hours is in order. I would also complain to the Alexandria city utility office about this. it might not be utility related, but that would be a good start.

Like I mentioned on Facebook last night. It pays to live in a city that has Comcast operating under a consent decree brought on by their crap (as well as the company they bought) service. There is on unit in the mayor's office that oversee this decree here. Comcast is on a really short leash in Jax. Along with the customer defections, they are tread lighty on customer service fuck ups here.

The industry rep that Charlie Ergen has for his pissing contests with programmers is notorious and considering Dish had already dropped MSG, MSG Plus, and Fuse in 2010 along with dropping the Voom channels back in '08 does not make things look good with the strained relationship between Charlie and the Dolans.
