Mexi-chusetts Blues

Now that America has experienced a Kenyan President and we've come through that experience without too much harm, isn't it time that we elect a Mexican? After all, Mexico is our very close neighbor and we already have many of them living here in America, including Mitt Romney, candidate for the office of President of the United States.

Romney is just one of nearly 15% of Mexicans in this country, legally and illegally, and we have to assume that he is one of the legal ones.

For some reason, el Mitón is embarrassed by his Mexican heritage, according to his website Mittens-For-US-President.com he claims to have born at Harper Hospital in Detroit, Michigan! In fact, he released a "certificate of live birth" that is an obvious fake. Isn't this the exact reasoning behind the Birther debate of President Obama? I've tried to investigate, but I don't have the money that Donald Trump has. My calls to the hospital and to City of Detroit Public Records Department have gone unanswered, and with one person cussing at me and then hanging up! Certainly that alone should prove that there is a conspiracy afoot. But who and why is someone is hiding his heritage?

Is it because he's said that he would veto the Dream Act if it came across his desk as President? Because, if one paid attention, two minutes later he did clarify that he'd only veto the current version of the Dream Act saying, "I wouldn't sign the Dream Act as it currently exists, but I would sign the Dream Act if it were focused on military service."

But in January of this year he also stated, "I believe in an America where millions of Americans believe in an America that's the America millions of Americans believe in. That's the America I love."

Along the way he has really down played his Mexican heritage, not even showing up at the Mexican-American Heritage Pride Parade in El Paso Texas. It's a slap in the face to our Hispanic brothers and sisters! Just because he doesn't "look" Mexican doesn't mean anything. Barack Obama doesn't look Kenyan does he?

El Mitón seems to be hiding his Mexican heritage and we need to bring him out into the open. Why is he claiming to be of American birth? What is he hiding? We need to know, because I do think it's okay for him to be born in Mexico. In fact, I think it's high time for America to have a leader that is Mexican! I say Viva la America! Or whatever...

Mitt's Mexican Blues:

Laid back in an old saloon, with a peso in my hand,
Watchin flies and children on the street,
And I smile because I'm rich and doctoring my birth certificate ,
While a little boy struggles to shine my feet.

And it's three days ride from my hometown and I don't know why I came.
I guess I came to keep from payin dues.
'cause I'm rich and privileged and don't owe anyone for my riches,
But I've got a damn good case of the mexicali blues. yeh!

There are other Mexicans I'd rather have as president, but okay...

btw - shouldn't the last line of that song match the blog title?

Well, I think that Mitt Romney has a certain air of authenticity --- rather like a 3 dollar bill.

Indeed. My mistake..... unless, there is yet another hidden conspiracy theory....

Hope Mr. Tri is feeling better today!

Same here. The storms early Saturday morning knocked out our AC unit, so I am lucky to be in the basement -- the coolest part of the house. We may have the AC unit restored tomorrow.

Thank goodness, we didn't lose power. Our neighborhood is mostly out. Slowly things are coming back on line.

Shane and Dani ended up staying here last night as they could not find a hotel room in a 60 mile radius. The place they are moving into is w/o power.

Wish them the best for me.

Also, I took some time to share yesterday's blog in a few places. If TriSec is not up for a blog on Tuesday, let me know. (Should I do something vet related?)

I just went out to pick up my laundry and even though it's only in the upper 80's that's hot enough for me. Yesterday, I did see that the Nats pitcher Strasburg was struggling and they took him out in the 4th inning when they were playing in the 106 degree heat in Atlanta. Strangely enough, I notice that White Sox-Yankees is not blacked out on WGN on DirecTV and I also get the game on YES locally.

That would be great, Will. I think we'll know more tomorrow. I loved your blog Saturday, BTW. I wasn't really online much, since thingswe a little busy here. I did read it andI hope that more do. (That reminds me, I need to put it up at 4F on the Facecrack...) -- it has been a little hectic around here lately.

I think it would be appropriate to do Ask a Vet, if you are so inclined.

If not, it is all good. Talked to Tri today, he sounds tired but is in good spirits.

I can do Ask a Vet fairly easily. I have a friend who works with a veteran's organization in San Diego whom I can talk to about a few stories.
