Rape Country
Author: velveeta jones    Date: 11/25/2012 15:21:04

While we complain, with good reason, about the rape culture in this country - in other countries the culture is so commonplace and accepted that even the women accept it. I don't speak of third world countries that are woefully embroiled in corruption and wars that bring on evil atrocities like Somalia or the Democratic Republic of Congo. These countries have so much going on that rape is just another of the many evils that befall the citizens. Often used as a tool for punishment and compliance.

Rather, I speak of countries that are considered "rich", "cultured" , "abundant". Countries like Saudi Arabia.

And, I continue to wonder why we deal with a country that commits so many human rights violations. Oh, right. Because of this:

It seems we must remain prisoners of this brutal King so we can have their oil. I'm disgusted by it, and I'd gladly give up my car and air travel, and go back to the horse and buggy age if it would relieve us from them. I know it's not just me - we have a military and industry that also needs the oil. But I am sickened by their treatment of women as chattel.

The most recent story, a reminder to women that they are lower in the chain than cow poop (do they have cows their? I suppose they do) is this news:

Saudi Arabia has been accused of behaving like Big Brother after introducing technology that alerts male "guardians" by text whenever women under their guardianship leave the country.

The kingdom already bans women from driving and excludes them from most workplaces. It also disapproves of women's sport. Since last week it has been operating a new electronic system that tracks all cross-border movements.

The system functions even if a woman is travelling with her husband or male "guardian", with a text sent immediately to the man. Saudi women must get formal approval from their guardians to travel abroad, and have to hand in an infamous "yellow slip", signed by a male, at the airport or border.

The guardian can be any related male. ANY. So, the mothers young son can be her guardian. What the hell happened here? How did we become the - excuse the term - bitches, of this stupid country!

This alone is the reason we need to be off oil and pushing for alternative methods of power. Currently, we are also having our American asses kicked on this front as well with Germany leading the way.

Until then, we must continue to bow to these assholes? Remember this:

Yes, even our current leader bows before this phony king.

I'm disgusted by it.

Here in 'Merica, we're not doing so well when it comes to women's issues either. This actually happened:

DAYTON, Ohio (CN) – After two high school boys raped a girl on campus, the school suspended her for three days, while the boys’ only punishment was to be kicked out of drama club, the girl’s parent claim in Federal Court.

But the above might have been legitimate rape. So, we'll have to wait for a judge to rule on it.

Please, everyone, send love and light to TrojanRabbit's Father. He just posted that he took a turn for the worse last night and that the family is gathering by his bedside, :(

VJ, thanks for an excellent blog. I would seriously question the accreditation of the school and I hope that parents are outraged.

My thoughts and prayers go to Trojanrabbit's Dad.

Thanks everyone. Our parents wanted no extraordinary measures taken. Dad has had respiratory issues for a long time and he just couldn't fight it any more. At least he passed peacefully.

Only in Canada can they decide that they could have a half-time show with both Justin Bieber and Gordon Lightfoot as they did for the 100th Grey Cup.

IF it makes you feel better, Aaron Rodgers has a PornStache.
