Velveeta is angry this morning. How is that different from any other Sunday you ask? I don't have an answer for you, sorry.

I've been thinking lately - [Note: it's really not good to allow me to think for too very long] about terrorism, flag waving and republicans and I can't help finding some very scary similarities. I did try to find some comparisons with liberals, but other than going to an extreme, extremes liberals just seem to be quietly tending their gardens instead of making bombs. And really, someone needs to do that- tending gardens is a lot more therapeutic than bomb-making.

Were the Boston bombers terrorists? Ask most any news outlet this question and you'll hear a resounding YES. In my opinion, if you plant a bomb intending to kill people, you're a terrorist. If you use threats of violence with any weapons of mass destruction then you're a terrorist. OBL/AQ? Yep. McViegh? Yep. Rudolph? Yep. Columbine kids.... wait, they never get called terrorists. And why is that? They had a manifesto of sorts (journals and videos that explained what they wanted to do and why) and they had a formulated plan including mass killing and escape or spectacular suicide, they had bombs, lots of bombs. Their bombs were, thankfully, epic failures. Yet, the media never calls them terrorists, instead they were bullied boys affected by music and violent video games and may have suffered from depression.

If we re-define who a terrorist is I guess it would lead to confusion on the part of the right wing, wouldn't it? In that, too many Christians would be labeled terrorists. David Koresh for example a guy who just wanted to live in peace in his church and collect a butt-ton of weapons while molesting young children. Why, that's called "freedom" to a rightie! Now, I certainly do not condone what our government did to evict this man from his compound, but I do agree that something had to be done. Why do we continue to kill innocent people to justify what this mad-man did? Or what our deranged government did? David Koresh was NOT a freedom fighter.

"Freedom" is closely tied in with terror in my opinion. It seems to me that all these people have in common is the word - they want the US to leave them alone, they want to preach what they want, they want the freedom to condemn other religions, to indoctrinate (teach) children their way, to keep women powerless through use of force, etc.. David Koresh and the leaders of al queda and the taliban and the catholic church have a bit too much in common. Again, my opinion.

Let's take one example, this guy here, Dean Saxton IV. Is he a terrorist? Maybe one in the making? He's a hardcore Christian who thinks that everyone should believe in the same things as him, he wants to deny freedom from women. How long before he starts building bombs?

Just wondering where the line is.

People like him have the freedom to speak, but once they start openly preaching for violence should we be concerned for our public safety?

To my knowledge this guy has never said what political party he belongs to (I'm betting he'd say "independent") but I doubt he pulled the lever for Obama or any other Dem. He is just another in a long line of RWNJ who fly the flag of Freedom. Freedom! He proclaims! Except for women, gays, muslims....
