I'm going to just leave this here as a stub for now.
Obama is not Ceaser Milan. He can't make the GOP stop shitting on the floor and rolling in it. He can't make the GOP stop biting people they have always hated. The GOP is a bad dog that refuses to be taught new tricks. Pretending that the President has the power to make the GOP stop embracing the massively unpopular ideas that cost them the last Presidential election is a half-assed attempt to hold Obama accountable for Republicans bad behavior instead of holding Republicans accountable for their own bad behavior. Any journalist who insists otherwise is full of it.

He's the President of the United States. He is not the Asshole Whisperer.
there is more, but for now, let that phrase just linger...

Morning

Great analogy.

Morning, comrades.

Following up on my Mythbustering from Wednesday...

"Colon Cleansers"? BUSTED. I lost a grand total of 2 pounds during the entire process. I did not step on the scale this morning, but I'd anticipate all that back very quickly.

Anyway...

Try not to throw up in your mouth. Here's what we're up against. (BSA)

Just read an article about the new NRA president and he's a real piece of... work:

In a June speech, Porter noted the NRA was “started by some Yankee generals who didn’t like the way my Southern boys had the ability to shoot in what we call the ‘War of Northern Aggression.’ ”

“Now y’all might call it the Civil War, but we call it the ‘War of Northern Aggression’ down South,” Porter said to the New York State Rifle & Pistol Association.

Today would have been James Brown's 80th birthday. Even having been dead for over 6 years, he's still the Hardest Working Man in Show Business.

The South will RISE (and get its ass kicked back to the Stone Age) again!

Good morning, bloggers! I hope that everyone is well.

Considering the demographic trends in the South, the rantings of Porter and his ilk may be the last ramblings of those who wish to restore the Confederacy. Also, what idiot thinks his AR-15 is going to beat tanks, drones, helicopter gun ships and the full might of the U.S. military. You change governments and society through mass movements which create public pressure for change, not armed violence. However, I guess Porter's rhetoric is good for the gun and ammunition industry as paranoia pushes sales.

Um - yes it does have to be registered as a "Farm Use" only vehicle at least in the VA

Just came back -- NYS has a farm vehicle registration as well.

Tractors need plates to go from one field to the opther on roads.

Plus, you can't tell me that they don't take "Farm Use" only vehicles and drive them on the roads. I see it every weekend in the summer.

Mala, I know sometimes you wait a while before your mom gets out of work... if you can, can you call me this afternoon?

I Want to fill you in on the going on around here.

YA know, writing a bitter letter of resignation, ripping everyone new assholes, and telling them their program sucks is very therapeutic.

Now, if I grow the massive man-sack needed to actually send the thing, we'll talk.

You know, I have written many letters like this. Then I put them away for a day or so-- and edit.

I find I am able to couch the bitterness in a way that is more like slicing a filet in a much more nice way.

I have found a way to work my new favorite word into the letter. I received a massively condescending email from one of the adults that participated in a recent fundraiser. (Not me personally, mind you - it was in the usual post-activity flurry of emails.)

"Unbelieveable effrontery", I called it.

I am particularly impressed by listing all my current and former offices...just so they can see what's walking out the door.

(OK, so the therapeutic effects didn't last long. Now I'm simmering.)

West coast ones anyway since I was in MASN and the O's are on the West Coast.
