How's a rare Saturday Night Blog grab you?


It is a quiet Trick or Treat around these parts. I'm afraid our neighborhood just hasn't been the same since the Postman Assaults of 2020, or the Gardencrest Murder of 2014, or even the shooting a block away in 2023.

I hope you're getting some utes in your area. It appears we'll have plenty of candy left over in these parts.

And of course - tomorrow is Christmas for some of us. All the candy that is suddenly in the wrong-coloured wrapper will be deeply discounted to make way for the red and green!


But I digress.


Of course the real news is happening on Tuesday. I think we can afford to be a little smug in the bluest state in the Union...except that one state really isn't going to make that much of a difference when a majority in this country is fascist.

But then again, this Commonwealth did make a difference once before, so you never know.

The biggest issue facing the state this year is actually all the ballot questions. There's a record nine that the voters will be deciding on. I've got my handy little guidebook that I'll be perusing in the next few days.

And being a weekend, naturally I spent all day out Scouting today. A rare thing; I was actually a participant and learner in a training course, instead of an instructor or culinary support. Next year, I'll be the assistant course director for my friend in another council for his Woodbadge course....which does set me up to be the course director in approximately 3-5 years' time.
