It is hilarious! I am imagining to 20- something women who have yet to give up on the affected speech pattern of their teen years, you know that nasally rising inflection, having this discussion.

its people like that who make me really dislike those people who drive around with the jumbo size SUV with the cutsy little stick figures on the back window of everyone in the family including the f-ing cat - I just want to ram my car into theirs but then I realize that it would just wreck my car and do nothing to them

Oh Mala. Stick figure families! Slowly I turned. I want a roof mounted 300 gigawatt x-ray laser for them!

I knew most of the "spoilers" but haven't really connected them together yet, like who was playing who. Heard that Simon Pegg steals every scene he's in.

the ones that think they're being edge with the "pirate" families or other themed ones kill me - much like the hipster beer commercials - all I can think is douchebags (<- btw the way is a word I would have never used until you guys, ya'll are such a bad influence )

In British Military Geek news, today is the 113th anniversary of the lifting of the Siege of Mafeking, which brough then Lieutenant-General Robert Baden-Powell to national fame. Eight years later, he went on to do something else.

It's also the 70th anniversary of the Lancaster's finest moment - the "Dambusters" raid of 617 Squadron.

I second that - plus it really has to be in combo with the giant SUV or the mini van that has the TV's that are each playing something different (I'm digging myself a bigger hole aren't I )

No not at all Mala. I feel the same way about those particular vehicles. They usually have some annoying bumper stickers as well.

In compare/contrast news, my Pack has their last meeting of the season tonight. The committee has been burning up the intertubes making sure we all have our ducks in a row, all the kids are getting the appropriate awards, and we have the ceremonies and other activities nailed down.

Troop 250 is also going in the field tonight. There was no menu planning or shopping lists being made Wednesday night, no gear was distributed or organized ("We'll do that Friday" - SPL) and one of the other adults was worried we don't have enough tents. I paid for the trip Wednesday evening, but no adult menu was created, I don't know if anybody went shopping, and indeed the trip leader wasn't even present at the last troop meeting.

And another of the adults wants me to put on a "new parent orientation" for some of the new folks on the fly, at the last minute, this weekend.

Meanwile, the intertubes are silent...

Troop 250 FFS! Seriously? That is not being prepared. If I may use Praxic Age bullshyt, "prior planning prevents piss-poor performance."

Alright gang, I'm off to shoot guns this weekend.

I heard from another parent that did go shopping last night, apparently there was enough organization that the kids won't starve this weekend.

It's unclear how the adult staff is being handled, but that will straighten itself out. (Besides, my friend lives all of 5 minutes from the campsite, I could always crash.)

TTFN - I will be back Sunday afternoon.

I EXPECT THIS BLOG TO BE FULLY OPERATIONAL.

Syphilis, Sex and fear.

They had me at "22-year old cardinal...sent by his father Alexander VI"

History doesn't recount who gave Cesare Borgia syphilis, but we do know when and where he got it. In the summer of 1497, he was a 22-year-old cardinal, sent as papal legate by his father, Pope Alexander VI, to crown the king of Naples and broker a royal marriage for his sister, Lucrezia.

good to hear your ok - I'd sacrifice a vacation for funds for a new laptop. You need like a coffee can to put your pocket money into at the end of the day - that stuff can add up pretty well
