House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) leaves the floor of the House in the wee hours of Sunday morning, having taken action that will probably shut down the government, and releases a statement saying, “It’s time for President Obama to rise above stubborn partisanship.â€
Which is like an arsonist telling others not to play with matches.

IMO it was pretty damn good. Very fitting end.
Salon compared it favorably to the endings of Cheers and S&TC.

Yes, I would have been disappointed if he had gotten away with everything. I wanted to see him die, maybe his family can slowly rebuild a life for themselves.
^^ yes, I realize they are fictional..... hahahaha
Of the shows we all talk about these days as new classics, there are few truly great series finales. The Shield has one; Six Feet Under had another. When I feel like weeping — it happens! — I go to this link to say goodbye to that show again. There are plenty of very good finales: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Wire, ER, and [insert your own here]. And we all know which ones caused people to freak out (Lost, The Sopranos, and, as of last week, Dexter).
Ending a television show is as hard as hell to do. But if one new business model for television is binging, it’s actually imperative that the show end well. Or all of that Netflix/Amazon/iTunes action the show was seeing during its life will fall off a cliff. Who in their right mind would tell someone now to begin watching Dexter? Better never to start. With The Shield, on the other hand, you could easily and truthfully say, “It is terrific the entire time and the ending is perfect.â€

Spoiler Alert if you haven't seen it!
I was happy to see it END. I'm sick of wimpy endings. Walt is an evil person that destroyed everything he touched; every person he encountered suffered from meeting him! And to have him go out proud of what he did and how many lives he destroyed -- well, it was satisfying to see him go, but I'd have loved for him to atone at the last minute. Instead he loving fondled the vat the was used to make a drug that destroys the lives of thousands of people.

are you sure you just aren't very emphatic about SOUP and are trying to cover it but with the old "my cap lock got stuck" ruse?

Now, as I was saying before we were interrupted...CNN's doc about Hillary Clinton has been cancelled - by its own creator.
Honestly, it just sounds like the guy ran into too much adversity and instead of working with and/or around it, he decided to be a whiny bitch on HuffPo.
I would have loved to explore all this. But when I approached people for interviews, I discovered that nobody, and I mean nobody, was interested in helping me make this film. Not Democrats, not Republicans -- and certainly nobody who works with the Clintons, wants access to the Clintons, or dreams of a position in a Hillary Clinton administration. Not even journalists who want access, which can easily be taken away. I even sensed potential difficulty in licensing archival footage from CBN (Pat Robertson) and from Fox. After approaching well over a hundred people, only two persons who had ever dealt with Mrs. Clinton would agree to an on-camera interview, and I suspected that even they would back out.

Essential or not -- I think we are forgetting that the shut down will effect a lot of Americans abroad.
