I'm not sure, I am assuming it will be Monday. I can stream live at Rand Radio? (or are you talking about the iheart station she's set to have?

So when you start hearing about that awful terrible ACA decision regarding contraception rules by Sotomayor, show this to your pearl clutching friends...

You know when I first heard the headline, I was all but then I heard or read some more in depth coverage, but I was still a little bit confused. Now thanks to your post, I get it now.

There's a massive 1/2 inch of snow on the ground in the Greater Boston Area.

It's so bad, not even the plows can get through - I'm so glad they cancelled school.

When I first read this over at TPM, the made it sound like Sotomayor was the new Scalia... the article information didn't match the headline at all.

Did a little digging, and here we are.

I have a teacher friend who is praying for a snow day friday - cause you know that last week off wasn't enough for her

I'm on the verge of emailing my friend on City Council and asking him if maybe the teacher's union has been leaning on the Mayor.

She's notorious for this - we had too many questionable snow days last year, including a couple where it never snowed at all, but the kids (and teachers) wound up having a few extra long weekends.

Happens here a lot too - but I mostly blame crappy weather reporting since the teachers union here is toothless

Yeah, at worst they're saying about an inch if at all. This is just one of those things that have ticked me off about all my friends who are teachers.

Hi, everyone!! Happy New Year!!

WCPT's home page is reporting that their stream has connectivity issues but hopes to be back up soon.

Here in Chicagoland, we are looking at up to a foot of snow and bitter cold. According to one forecast, we may have a high of -8 on Tuesday and a low of -18.

Good, because the poor face a lot of indignities already. I hope that we are seeing a push back against these extreme policies.

I doubt that they understand much more than holding out their hands to their financial backers. I seem to recall that Scott's wife stood to benefit from this policy.

We're buying used military jets?

From the Czech Republic, of all places. And it appears to be a private company, not Uncle Sam, but still...

Exciting news on the warbird front!

I've been following this off and on for a few years....they may get her airborne this summer!

(And still grieving over the 2011 hull-loss of "Liberty Belle"...getting a WWII heavy back in the air woild be a good thing.)

Good day, folks. About an inch on the ground now. The worst of the snow is supposed to hit tonight and will be when I have to leave work. If the road conditions are bad, I'm debating whether I should stay at a hotel near work tonight and just head home the next day after the storm is over and I will just have the bitter cold to deal with.

Besides seeing a rollergirl too drunk to walk in her heels, I got to play and epic, 16-hand game of Cards Against Humanity on New Year's Eve.

Comment by TriSec on 01/02/2014 18:43:51
Say Mondo, does roller derby have magical, transative powers for its participants?

A Cubmaster friend of mine, who is generally a easygoing, gentle lady, apparently becomes a rabid zombie-hunter when she straps on her skates.

I have suggested that the troop attend an event as a show of support, but the Scoutmaster doesn't quite consider that "family-friendly". (But I also know he's being facetious.)

Yes. My friend Erica, when she is in skates turns from a petite, mild mannered engineer to Flux Decapitat'r, who you don't want to be in front of when she is on a jam. She will kill you.

Derby is fun for all ages.

Hi, everyone. WCPT's stream is back up.

I am having a late lunch after spending a lot of time shoveling snow. The snow does not bug me so much as the forecast for the cold weather behind it.

BOSTON, MA - Officials today are advising all citizens of the Commonwealth to seek shelter and cover their heads.

A completely new and unrecorded phenomenon is expected overnight. Meteorologists are unable to explain what some have called "snow", but in reality is merely frozen water falling from the sky.

In response to what is expected to be a cataclysmic event, officials are warning people to obtain large quantities of bread, milk, and eggs should they become trapped in their homes. Hardware stores also report that previously-purchased shovels and other tools have mysteriously disintegrated or otherwise disappeared, prompting a 'run' on these items as well.

Meanwhile, Governor Patrick has called a news conference to announce the impending destruction of all that we know, and has written a farewell speech. Churches are reportedly full as congregants beg for mercy from God from this unexpected holocaust.

The Weather Channel has named this storm "Freakin' move to Miami already!" and are tracking its progress on a second-by-second basis. Stay tuned for further details.

This station will remain online as long as technically possible. Good luck to us all.
