In the meantime... Look what I can see from the front porch of my house...

I really can. I feel the ick factor in the air.

Starting with Senator Cruz and Ending the first day with Donald Trump -- expoect much stupid sound bytes today.

Last night, I posted this in the comments:
Remember the other day when Greenwald was telling us how AWESOME RT was?

I would very much like to see his take on this:

Link to a story about it.
It turns out, there is a little bit more to this story. RussiaToday responded, not just about Liz Wahl, but also Abbey Martin.
The storm of articles posted about RT over the last couple of days – literally tons of printed copy - looks as if it were written to dictation. Hardly any respectable media outlet refrained from lambasting and lynching RT journalists in articles or reports. Our employees listen to their colleagues, their fellow citizens, and their potential employers, as career prospects are obviously important to every journalist. How many could withstand this pressure? Well, some will and some won’t. Some sincerely disagree, as they believe their own country more than mine. Others are simply thinking about their future. And it’s hard for me to judge them.

This is all typical of a media war. We’re not the first and we will not be the last to go through this. During the Arab Spring, Al Jazeera staff in Lebanon made headlines by resigning en masse. Their Egyptian colleagues followed suit. Over twenty journalists resigned citing disagreement with the channel’s editorial line. That this happened without any pressure from the world mass media was due to the fact that, throughout the Arab Spring, Al Jazeera was completely in tune with the global mainstream. So no one sought to criticize the channel, on the contrary, everyone praised its coverage.

A couple of minutes after Liz made her statement, we found all the major news media in the world - as our exhausted spokeswoman put it, “CNN, NYT, pretty much everyone” – glowing with schadenfreude, as they lined up for official feedback from RT. This included those who had ignored the news of the Ashton-Paet phone leak revelation, as if it didn’t happen. A rival media anchor’s resignation is certainly much more newsworthy and more relevant to the Ukraine crisis than two European leaders saying opposition henchmen may have been killing people.

I read this earlier today, found it interesting...
Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) explained on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" that when he asked a procedural question after Issa adjourned the hearing, he was simply trying to get former IRS official Lois Lerner's attorney to provide the committee with a proffer. That agreement would have told the committee what Lerner would have said if she testified during the hearing instead of invoking her Fifth Amendment rights.

(snip)

Cummings also suggested that Republicans on the committee may have violated Lerner's Fifth Amendment rights when they decided that a statement she gave denying the allegations against her constituted a waiver of those rights.

"I think we have to be very careful with people's rights and I don't care who it is," he said. "Tea party or conservative, Republican, Democrat. Everybody's rights need to be protected and I think that we need to do that. And we had legal basis to say that they were not upholding her rights."

Wouldn't it be nice if they actually understood things over at Faux?

Raine, the CPAC soundbites have started! I give Teddy Cruz:

I like Castle - Stana Katic and Fillion have just enough of that old Hepburn/Grant thing to pull it off.

The show also knows it's not a serious drama. Fillion is given just enough room to be a goofball.

Good morning, bloggers. I hope that everyone is doing well. I suspect that I still have my cold as I feel a bit out of it.

As for CPAC, I would be interested to see if the people at that gathering had to live through the same conditions as survivors of Hurricane Katrina did in the SuperDome. Mind you, I am not asking for a disaster in the Washington, D.C. area but I think it would be interesting to see the conservatives respond to a crisis.
