First and foremost, Happy Opening day to my fellow baseball lovers!

It's been a long rough winter for myself, and for many of us here on the blog.

I apologize for a lack of substance this winter. I don't know if it is me or if it is the constant drum of dowdy negativity from the media.

Either way, I am going to do a better job of taking my blog responsibilities seriously in the future.

How was your weekend?

Morning

No worries we all need to recharge - there has been a steady drum beat of negativity out there in many parts of life. Its draining. Not been so talkative myself.

Liverpool beat the crap outta Tottenham Hotspurs. They are now leading the Premier League. There is a good chance they can take the championship this year

Tell me about it! Went out to get gas about 1 and in less then an hour it rained, sleeted, snowed, sleeted and rained again. On top of that the wind was nuts!

In reference to today's blog - is anyone interested in taking over one of my blog days on a permanent basis? I am getting somewhat burned out on doing this every week, and feel like I'm just phoning it in half the time.

I could try, I'm not quite as elegant as you and Raine and a few others. Plus I'm a little all over the place with random topics. But like I said I could try

Good morning, bloggers!!

First, I hope that everyone is well.

This Saturday, I relaxed a bit and in the afternoon house sat and dog sat for a friend who came back Sunday afternoon. After getting home, I took an hour and a half walk as it was over 50 degrees. We may reach the upper 60s today and I have some light yard work later.

In more good news, I am still finding jobs out east. I found a few positions this weekend in TriSec's hometown of Waltham, MA. I will be glad to write Saturday's blog. In even more good news, Mom is checking with a few of the relatives on her side of the family on a replacement car.

I am not sure that I can take over one day a week as I am trying to move Heaven, Hell and Earth to find a full time position. However, I am glad to help when I can.

Now for some truly GOOD NEWS for our country. From the Los Angeles Times:

Obamacare has led to health coverage for millions more people
At least 9.5 million previously uninsured people have gotten health insurance since Obamacare started, surveys and reports show.

By Noam N. Levey
March 30, 2014, 9:14 p.m.

WASHINGTON — President Obama's healthcare law, despite a rocky rollout and determined opposition from critics, already has spurred the largest expansion in health coverage in America in half a century, national surveys and enrollment data show.

As the law's initial enrollment period closes, at least 9.5 million previously uninsured people have gained coverage. Some have done so through marketplaces created by the law, some through other private insurance and others through Medicaid, which has expanded under the law in about half the states.

The tally draws from a review of state and federal enrollment reports, surveys and interviews with insurance executives and government officials nationwide.

The Affordable Care Act still faces major challenges, particularly the risk of premium hikes next year that could drive away newly insured customers. But the increased coverage so far amounts to substantial progress toward one of the law's principal goals and is the most significant expansion since the creation of Medicare and Medicaid in 1965.

Hey everybody! Just so you all know:

A week ago Sunday I was hit with stabbing pains in my right side. I have had kidney stones before, and this felt a bit like one, but it seemed to be coming from the front of my torso and too high up. I took some Tylenol and waited it out. It seemed to go away until I got the pain again last Monday morning. Another dose, another wait and it all seemed fine.

Then that afternoon it hit me for a third time and I felt like I was being disemboweled. Mrs C offered to drive me to the emergency room. We waited for a good long while for a doctor to see me. In the meantime, the nurse on duty speculated that it could be one of three things: a kidney stone, a gall stone, or appendicitis. They gave me an ultrasound and a CT scan to determine what it was, and I was in the ER for almost 8 hours, mostly because they were having trouble finding the problem.

Eventually they did determine that it was in fact a kidney stone. Apparently it was still at the top of the ureter leading to the bladder, and they thought it could pass out of my body, so they sent me home with prescriptions for pain meds.

A week later, all I have left are a few Percocet and an intermittent twinge in my side. It feels like the stone has dropped, but I haven't had a sign that it has gone from my body. It seemed as if it might have early yesterday morning (accompanied by a turn at the wheel of the porcelain bus) but I still feel some pain there and I didn't see the stone in the bowl after I thought I had passed it. Anyway, please keep me in your thoughts and whatnots.

Yikes kidney stones.. those things are terribly unpleasant. There were a few occasions when I watched my former landlord double over in pain from them (he eventually had an operation to remove a stone mass in his kidney that was the size of a helixed windchime)

TO CATCH THEM IS MY REAL TEST, TO TRAIN THEM IS MY CAUSE!

WTF, they're salting Rt 128 this morning.....

Mrs. Rabbit called a couple of hours ago to say it was snowing.

Mother Nature seems to be a day off with her April Fool's joke.

Since there's a forecast for rain already next weekend, I may just decide to dig into Mrs Rabbit's Volvo little by little over the week. I'm getting daily questions on when her car is going to be fixed. I don't think she likes my Honda.

No Lithotripsy for the Clintster? That will shatter that offending rock to dust so you can painlessly pee it away.

Feeling like that kind of day. These West Coast games are havoc on my sleep schedule. The one good thing with baseball is I do get some day shifts out of the deal since I was be doing those on Friday when I do the Orioles on MASN2 and then on Sunday I have the Mets on SNY except I have to get used to waking up in the morning again.
