In today's edition I'd like to highlight some of the #HobbyLobbyLove

It didn't really go as planned.

I'm a crafter, a sometimes artist. I love to create things for myself and people I love. I have shopped Hobby Lobby. That was before I knew what douchbags they were. I will no longer darken their door step or give them my money.

Why should I reward a company that is actively trying to hurt their workers and others?

Granted I do shop Michael's and AC Moore, but all they seem to want is my money. And I'm okay with that. They aren't trying to preach at me. They aren't trying to tell me how holier their corporation is then me or others. They are just in business for the cash.

I've heard Thom Hartman say that boycotts don't work. I beg to differ. Sure they aren't going to suddenly go out of business because I get my Wilton icing color at AC Moore. Instead there is a slow bleed and I'm willing to try it.

I love this today!!!!

As far as a boycott, I have an alternative… Showrooming.
Showrooming is the practice of examining merchandise in a traditional brick and mortar retail store, and then buying it online at a lower price.

Showrooming can be costly to retailers, not only in terms of the loss of the sale, but also due to damage caused to the store's floor samples of a product through constant examination from consumers.

Showrooming was said to be behind the collapse of UK photography chain Jessops, and Target’s decision to discontinue carrying the Amazon Kindle.

Raine did you end up finding a transcript of that Senate immigration panel yesterday? The one on C-Span is kinda unedited and broken up according to timestamp in the video.

Then there's "retail rentals". You buy a high- dollar item from a store with a liberal return policy, use it once, then bring it back for your 'deposit'.

Maybe boycotts don't work, but if you feel better about not spending your money at a particular store or on a particular product, then at least you can sleep at night.

"That’s because James’ website is a browser-melting abomination."

Here is the lede in its full glory:

For the last couple of days, NBA reporter Chris Sheridan has insisted on two things: LeBron James will sign with the Cleveland Cavaliers, and he will make that announcement on his website, lebronjames.com. If Sheridan is correct, a lot of people are going to be very disappointed. That’s because James’ website is a browser-melting abomination."

I just started watching the thing with closed captioning on.. Maybe I'll get through the entire hearing by the end of the work day.

I think it is cool that they have done this, but they are so narrowly focused on the issue. What want is to have the rules streamlined for people who have STEM degrees.

I think that we need to employ more of our own engineers. Too often, companies bring people over from other countries so that they can work cheaper than their American counterparts.

Meanwhile, Zack Galifanakis' web show gets a nomination and right wingers freak out because he interviewed the President in the nominated episode.

A friend of mine on FB actually posted a FOX News link about the nomination, and wrote "Wow. I am so ashamed of this country" Yes, because the President appeared on a television show.

Good day, folks. Slept late because of another late shift and I have to be at work by 3 today since Knicks Summer League starts in Vegas. Supposedly someone from the Daily News announced that Melo was supposed to announce that he took the highest offer which would mean he's staying with the Knicks even with the questions of how long it would take the team to rebuild after the disaster that was last season.
