Morning

For those who have not seen it -that's from Buffy the Vampire Slayer (the show not the movie). I highly recommend the show!

I'm torn - its comedy gold for us but it would give him more media face time. He may not be the brightest of bulbs but the crazies like him.

I've only watched about 3 episodes of that show in my lifetime, but that was one of them - hilarious!

Joss Whedon is a genius - also writes some of the best female charters on TV and a great message in there about the strength of women.

Good morning, everyone!

I hope that everyone is feeling better.

We may not have much hope with the House according to Talking Points Memo. Gerrymandering works.

As for myself, I will be out tomorrow. I am taking Mom shopping at outlet malls in southern Wisconsin before going to my cousin Kevin's 40th Birthday. Then on Sunday, I am car pooling with a few friends to a role-playing game event. It is good to get out of the house.

I am Jewish and I am wincing at the Christmas displays in the stores, some of which were set up before Halloween.

Let me share a piece from Vanity Fair: 30 years of Conservative Nonsense.

I've seen documentaries and behind the scene's shows on how they develop some of those displays and windows - takes all year to create. Some of them are just amazing.

Mala, those displays are often amazing. Carson Pirie Scott and the old Marshall Field's (now Macy's ) had wonderful displays here up to this day.

Good day, folks. I think I am feeling burned out.

I have friends that have worked on these- Macy's has an entire department dedicated to them.

IS there a reason why the Whistleblower wasted so long to come forward with this?

The reason why I ask, is because I Really wish she had testified on Elizabeth Warrens inquiry about this.

There was a gag order in place - by coming forward she risks pretty much everything. She finally came to the realization that revealing what she knows far outweighs the consequences.

Despite a lot of misgivings locally, Macy's has shown that they are keeping up with the local windows tradition that Marshall Field's had here. I will see about going downtown to see the windows. (The displays at Walgreen's and other stores, not so much.)

The thing is, I expect congress to do nothing… I am looking at the Senate.

This is going to be an interesting few years.
